HP Scanjet G2410 Scanner

(4 out of 5) by Sarah Bruce on May 24, 2009 (UK)
HP ScanJet G2410 Flatbed Scanner
When buying a second scanner (I already own an epson sx200 printer scanner, which is great for scanning photos but no good for scanning anything with any kind of depth such as artwork or 3-d objects, plus the true colours of items is sometimes difficult to obtain.)
This is where the HP scanjet G2410 is wonderful, scanning objects, photos and artwork with ease. It is also very easy and quick to set up. One of the great things about The G2410 is the access to HP website which is informative and helpful with some great links to other sights such as HP shop and 'snapfish.co.uk' (for those who haven't heard of snapfish it's a website which offers photo printing and free photo storage.)
in all the G2410 is a good scanner, great value for money and simple to use and hopefully will last as long as my first HP scanner which lasted 8 years!!.

HP PRODUCTS ALWAYS THE BEST CHOICE

(5 out of 5) by James A Weir on May 24, 2009
I have been purchasing HP products for the past 6 years now, I have never been let down, and this scanner based on their former twain scanner still gives excellent results. HP I found is a company you can trust and can do more than even the other big names at a fraction of the price. Don't be fooled by the name, HP is up their competing with the heavies and as far as am concerned, they are winning in my book!

Good scanner - lousy software

(3 out of 5) by Mr. Leonard E. Palmer on Jun 14, 2009 (Pontrobert, Wales)
The Scan-jet G2410 is an up-date of a basically similar model. Simpler switches are an improvement - and they work. The new software is terrible - unnecessarily complicated for such a basic unit. Previous software was much easier and quicker to use.

Good Scanner but no slides

(5 out of 5) by Donald Naybour on Jul 9, 2009 (Matlock UK)
This is a big improvement on my old scanner. I am a MAC user and the software slots in to MAC 10.5 beautifully and puts images straight into iPhoto. great

It does not scan slides or other transparent items even though the Amazon write up and tech spec says it does. To do this it needs a light in the lid
which is just not there, but at this price what can you expect.

Bought with regret

(1 out of 5) by Allan Chivers on Aug 6, 2009 (Connah's Quay, N Wales, UK)
I bought this scanner after changing my desktop XP to a laptop Vista. It was difficult to set up and very unreliable. I could never rely on it working first time. Things came to a head after having owned it for only nine months where it didn't work again. I tried re-installing the software but to no avail so I disconnected it, took it out to my drive and smashed it on the tarmac. Now I'm looking for a replacement.
