This didn't work with my iPod Touch 32GB ("3rd generation"), which displayed "Charging not supported with this accessory" every time. Apparenty it's a known problem, caused by the cable - the new iPods need cables with a different wiring (although I think the 8GB Touch is OK). If the plug that goes into the iPod has release buttons on the side, it's the old type. The retailer accepted the item back with no problems.

I got this to charge my ipod so that I could do it without turning the computer on, but its usefulness has gone far beyond that. We soon discovered that it will charge most other types of mp3 player, and also satnavs. I suspect that it has other uses. This is an invalueable product, and is great for holidays.

Very pleased with the product. I chose to spend a little bit more because it's an Apple product and that made me feel more comfortable when charging my IPOD. Service and delivery excellent.

After over heating an ipod touch battery with a standard charger (ipod ruined but replaced by Apple) I bought this and feel a lot happier that the battery will not overheat. Cuts out when battery fully charged. Although more expensive well worth it with added peace of mind.
