Toshiba OK

(4 out of 5) by Mr. C. Henderson on Nov 27, 2009
Delivered promptly but not as well packed as expected. However appeared to be undamaged. Player had been opened and used which caused some problems in setting up. Supplier replied promptly when I suggested that machine might be faulty but a more careful installation showed that it was OK.

A Problem and a Query.....

(4 out of 5) by pompeyman on Oct 10, 2009 (portsmouth)
An excellent machine, recording quality is as good as the tv picture on SP (on HDD). Easy to set up recordings, easy to find them later. However, only 4 stars, because occasionally the recording's ( and also when watching live ) picture and sound are out of sync. Why? Anyone else found this? I have found it is sometimes cured by changing channel, when watching live of course, and then going straight back to the channel with the problem. Does not always work though. The other day I recorded 5 programmes, the first 3 and last were in sync, but the 4th was not. Totally wierd!!
My query is : how can I play my region 1 dvd's? I cannot find the "hack" anywhere for this machine.

This is so much better than having three different appliances to try and work out, once you get the hang of it, it is very easy to use.

Toshiba RDXV48

(4 out of 5) by Mr. C. M. Booth on Jun 20, 2009 (Kent U.K.)
I needed to replace a faulty VCR machine, and decided to get a bit more up to date by buying this Toshiba product.I am pleased with this machine, and having read previous reviews, was a little worried by some of them, The instructions took a bit of thought, but after a week of trying the different facilities got the hang of everything. Because we get poor Digital signal for BBC 1 2 & ITV I initially could not record Analogue programmes, but found them on the timer programme, as numbers 901/2/3/4/ the digital programmes being in the 1/2/3/ etc so now everything is really good. The only thing that I have not tried, is transfering Video to DVD. (not very electronic 64 year old)
