I was always a little sceptical of what I regarded as accessories when trying to improve the performance of HI-FI products, so I just bought the essentials and expected them to do exactly what the magazines claimed of them. I had purchased a marantz 6002 cd player and amp to replace my old sony and kept the speakers in a corner on a shelf (exactly what they tell you not to do)and expected to be impressed. I did notice an improvement but not to the extent they were claiming it should. I went on the forums and the problems in sound I was experiencing all pointed to me not having speaker stands. So I decided to buy these hoping at the most to notice subtle differences which would justify the outlay. To say I was impressed would be a major understatement. It was completely the WOW factor and one of the single most important products I have bought. Every aspect of sound was improved, especially the tightness of the bass and clarity. I cant tell you how they would compare to other stands but if you haven't got any and like me are a bit sceptical regarding any improvement they could make, then don't be as hopefully if you notice even half the difference I did it will easily justify the cost.
