VALUE FOR MONEY

(5 out of 5) by Simon Wilding on Feb 18, 2009 (Caerphilly Wales U.K.)
A useful point and shoot compact digital camera bought as a present for my Wife that also has many advanced features for me to play with
For reasons unknown the green version was cheeper than its silver and red cousins but with the same specifications.
For this money probably the last nail in the 35mm film cameras coffin.

Basic but comes up with the goods..

(4 out of 5) by Julie Lowery on Feb 4, 2009 (England)
I purchased this camera after a little research on low cost cameras as my budget was small. The reviews were good and so, was the price! I have used it for 2 months or so and I am thrilled with the results. Especialy day time nature shots. The colours are true and even in flat light it is possible to get decent results. I have been complemented on these pictures. At night, the flash gives great skin tone..though sometimes the odd few are blurred. It is easy to use, though the options are basic, but I made a good choice. I have an SLR camera worth 4 times more but I prefer this little camera's results for 'everyday' use.

A470 - perfect easy to use kids camera

(4 out of 5) by P. Stamp on Feb 1, 2009
A470 - perfect easy to use kid's camera. after a lot of research it seems to be the best picture quality in this price bracket. it is a bit chunky but not so much that you don't take it places. overall 9/10.

Not Ultra Compact But Great Pics

(5 out of 5) by EnglishStudies on May 27, 2008 (UK)
This isn't the slimmest or tiniest compact digital camera, but it's still easily pocketable (jacket, not shirt!) and for the price, produces great pics in a compact form. The screen is a good size and nice and bright and the extra bit on the zoom makes a difference - most of the competition stops at 3x. The colour choice allows a bit of personalisation.

There are an amazing number of presets, but you won't need most of them, and the most important ones are the most accessible. Anyone unused to digital cameras or who is a bit of a technophobe upgrading might find the menus a bit of a fiddle, but for most purposes, they won't be used much.

Pictures are bright and sharp with comparatively little distortion. Colours are bright and zingy - not quite true - but the bit of extra saturation makes them very attractive.

All in all, a bargain little camera.
