Good allrounder

(4 out of 5) by Georgia Garland on May 30, 2008 (London)
I just recieved mine today and first impressions is that it is an attractive camera. The pictures are clear. But the camera itself is quite difficult to use as theres so many functions. Not having a black and white setting is a bit of a let down but you can easily download picasa 2 on google n edit your images on there. Its small enough to fit in your pocket or bag and is great for taking pictures with your friends. i suggest buying a 2GB memory card for it as they are so cheap now.

Its a really good buy and an excellent value for money, when i told everyone how cheap it wsa they were astonished. My dad bought a camera that was atleast twice as expensive and the only difference is that his is a bit thinner.

If your like me and just looking for a digital camera to take pictures of your friends and to take on days out then this is the best for your money. ( trust ive been searching for weeks)

Not Quite Ultra Compact but Great Pics

(5 out of 5) by EnglishStudies on May 27, 2008 (UK)
This isn't the slimmest or tiniest compact digital camera, but it's still easily pocketable (jacket, not shirt!) and for the price, produces great pics in a compact form. The screen is a good size and nice and bright and the extra bit on the zoom makes a difference - most of the competition stops at 3x. The colour choice allows a bit of personalisation.

There are an amazing number of presets, but you won't need most of them, and the most important ones are the most accessible. Anyone unused to digital cameras or who is a bit of a technophobe upgrading might find the menus a bit of a fiddle, but for most purposes, they won't be used much.

Pictures are bright and sharp with comparatively little distortion. Colours are bright and zingy - not quite true - but the bit of extra saturation makes them very attractive.

All in all, a bargain little camera.

Camera

(5 out of 5) by Sue King on Feb 24, 2009 (Peterborough, England)
This camera was bought for use by two classes of Reception children to record their work and each other. It is easy to use although they do have a tendancy to 'twiddle' the dial at the top and so sometimes they take snapshot videos or else it's "Please miss the camera doesn't work!" We chose it because a previous comment said that although she had dropped it, it still continued to work. This I can agree with. Only time will tell how long it will continue to work although we do teach the children to use it carefully. It is in use everyday and it is so easy to delete the unwanted photos.

Canon PowerShot A470 Digital Camera

(4 out of 5) by Marangra on Jun 1, 2009
This is my very first digital camera. My husband has one, but very complicated to use, although he can understand it, I can't! So, I wanted one that was simple to use and took great photos. Canon PowerShot A470 was my choice. It is very easy to use, I am aged 70 and no problems with acessing the menu. The photos I have taken so far have been clear and of natural colour. The size is just right, I don't really want to carry it around in my pocket, that seems too risky to me, but it will fit in a handbag OK. All said and done, a jolly good camera for me.
