I have a 3MP camera on my mobile phone which is adequate for outside pictures in good light. I was looking for a compact camera that takes good indoor pictures, no more than 8MP, a good lens, decent video, good battery life from a well known name. I wasn't disappointed on any account. I have had this for a few weeks now. It has superb picture quality, is easy to use and has not showed one drop on the battery indicator.

But the real surprise was the video. When I played back the AVI files full screen on my 15.4" laptop screen I was astounded by the seamless image and sound quality. OK its not up to modern camcorder quality but even in dim indoor light it more than matched my old DV camcorder.

Getting a decent size SDHC card is a must if you want to keep a lot of pictures and video on it, I got an 8Gb card with it.

I picked mine up for £120 prior to Xmas so I'm surprised to see it at over £150 now. Hope this doesn't outprice such a good camera.
