Canon FS100 Camcorder

(4 out of 5) by Mr. Robin Chawner on Sep 7, 2009
I'm a complete newcomer to Digital Camcorders. I bought the Canon FS100 [] on behalf of our Public Speaking practice club. We needed it to be SD card-based, good zoom, lightweight and have audio input for a microphone. The FS100 ticks all these boxes and more. The instruction book is comprehensive and reasonably easily assimilated. We've used it and it seems to be just what we wanted. We also bought a tripod (would recommend this)

Potential never fulfilled

(1 out of 5) by Dr. George on Mar 26, 2009 (Yorkshire)
This should be an excellent camera, but we were dissapointed.
It is very light and easy to use, but the picture quality is bad. The focus is very slow to adapt and when panning, the image when played back, jumps accross the screen in stages with horizontal break lines.
I can only imagine that there was a fault or that the 1 Mpix CCD is just not upto the job.
