Great Innovative Mouse

Logitech LX8 is a great mouse. I wanted similar features compared to my A4-tech corded mouse. When you can program buttons to Maximise window, Minimise window and Close Applications then you save a lot of time. You can also fine tune how the cursor and scroll button moves to the way you want.I can never go back to the basic 3 button mouse.
You have to download the installation software from the Logitech website, that is ok. This is indicated on the quick start guide that comes with the mouse. I suppose it saves them having to include a CD with the mouse. Think of it as being a Greener option. Disposed CD's are an environmental hazard as they never breakdown even after hundreds of years.
better than a trackpad

I bought the Logitech LX8 Laser Mouse recently and it has been an excellent purchase,it's far superior to using the trackpad on a laptop.

Worried when I read other reviews about over - sensitive buttons , but fears were unfounded - even with my fairly large hands ! Easy to use and no problems with wireless range .I'm left handed but easily worked with my right .Build quality excellent.I would recommend this mouse . Martin (Belfast)
Good Mouse but no PS2 adaptor

The mouse itelf works evry well but when I bought it various adverts I'd seen said it was USB/PS2. The version shipped to me is USB only and won't work with a standard PS2 adaptor.
Perfect!

Very good mouse, the range of the receiver is larger than alot of the other cordless mice. very easy to use.
I use the mouse alot for computer modelling (CAD) and find it such an improvement over my old ball mouse, much better control.
The buttons can be customised with the downloadable software, although not to the extent which i would like, for example assigning a button to a keyboard shortcut would be useful, it may be possible somehow i expect.
The mouse works with XP after windows searches for drivers and works instantly with Linux (Ubuntu) where (after some searching) it is possible to assign each button to a shortcut.
Highly recommended!
