Good at first!
I bought this Hard-drive only two days ago, at first it was very easy to install, just power it up, use the software on the drive and easy, backed up my important files!
But today it refuses to work, no power, no nothing, I have a feeling it is the ac power supply that came with the device, easily replaceable but the support side of the company is a disgrace, I've attempted to email, ring etc maxtor and their support team but with no luck, no one answer! Not impressed.
I'm sure not everyone has had a similar experience but this has put me off buying another one of their products!

Expensive paperweight
This is the most useless piece of rubbish i have ever come across. I have had it nearly three Months and am still unable to even turn it on. The amount of time i have spent either on the phone or e-mailing Maxtor is incredible and they are not able or not willing to help. I would certainly avoid all Maxtor products at any cost. Not only is the product unworkable, but neither are they willing to take responsibility for it. AVOID!!!!

Dodgy Plug
I bought this from PC World. Got it home and noticed the foreign plug. I took it back and they gave me a shaver adaptor. Every time I use it, it seems to fuse the plug. I have now used four adaptors and PC World are going to swap it for something else. It does look nice though!

RUBBISH
Got the first one home - DEAD.
Exchanged for another one - spend hours trying to get it to work on VISTA. I only half managed this with errors every time it was connected - MAXTOR web help solution did not work. After backing up 200GB of data, it failed and I lost lots of data.
Avoid this item!!!

Um...no
I've got to agree with all the other bad reviews on this product. I'm now on my second Maxtor OneTouch, and think I need to give it OneKick. My first unit died after about a week, whereafter I took the damn thing back to the shop and was given another. This started out fine and I spent WAY TOO MANY hours burning my whole CD collection onto it (about 160GB). Then, lo and behold, the thing has died on me again.
I've contacted technical support who are about as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle, and will now be changing this for another product that does not bear the Maxtor or Seagate name.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
