The ipod seemed to lose charge really quickly after charging and after a few days stopped responding altogether. Fortunately the ipod seems to have recovered now, but we are still concerned it may have caused permanent damage to the ipod battery.
No problems with seller, fast delivery and fast refund when we complained through Amazon, but again not interested in getting the charger back.

Doesn't Work

The fact that this is cheap (hm, should that tell you something?), it arrived in 2 days, with good packaging, and the fact that I got a full refund without the slightest quibble (and told not to bother sending it back, so clearly they aren't interested in finding out WHY it doesn't work), is irrelevant.
It plugs in, the pretty light lights up, the iPod's register a connection because they turn on . . it just doesn't charge. At all. In fact, on the Ipod 3rd Gen and Ipod 4th Gen, it actually sucked charge OUT, at quite an astounding rate - so what it was doing to the batteries to accomplish that, I dread to think.
If you've invested your money in a piece of equipment as high-quality as Apple, don't risk it all by buying this junk.

Long-term experience
(3 out of 5) by J. Webb on Aug 10, 2009 (London England)I bought this item from Amazon 3 and a half years ago. It's been reliable in that time, not used excessively, but has failed now. Is 3.5 years long enough as a life? I'd rather it had outlasted the ipod battery!
