Nice looking but flawed design

(2 out of 5) by B. Wong on Jan 27, 2010 (London)
The basic functionality of this product is okay except the alarm clock, which has a mind of its own. I set mine to radio at 6am. Sometimes it gives me radio, sometimes beebing sounds, sometimes radio then beebing sound.

There are also problems in the design

1. The buttons are all flushed to the surface and quite small, so it is completely impossible to operate in the dark.
2. The display is completely vertical, making it extremely awkward if you just want to check the time in bed
3. The only speaker is on top. If you read in bed you have to be careful that you don't put the book on top, or you'll miss the alarm
4. It's pretty large

Revo Blik WIFI Radio - Review by Colin Rogers in Holland

(3 out of 5) by Colin Rogers on May 24, 2009 (The Netherlands)
Great looking product and so simple to install. Within minutes of opening the box we were listening to BBC Radio 4 FM in our kitchen here in Holland. It does however have one disappointing feature - it keeps losing our WIFI signal, even thought it is strong and we don't have that problem with a laptop in the same room.

Quality product with good design

(5 out of 5) by Marek Janota on Mar 22, 2009
This is a great all-round radio with surprisingly good sound quality. The make is close to brilliant. No doubt someone who designed it really did think. All controls (including a remote unit) work accurate.
FM reception is excellent (really high sensitivity). Apart from radio webcasts I use the BLIK Wi-FI unit in my kitchen to receive MP3 streams from my Network Attached Storage device. This is as hot and good as a cup of morning coffee.
You can use it almost out of the box. With some WiFi routers, an additional tweaking may be needed to improve overall performance, especially if your home/office network happens to be heavily loaded or/and if there are numerous neighbouring WiFi networks.
Now, my wife wants Pico Wi-Fi in our bedroom :-)

reliability of reception not equal to a computer

(1 out of 5) by B. L. Golton on Feb 26, 2008
When it is working the Blik internet radio is very good. The problem is that it looses the signal stream every 45 minutes or so and there is an interuption of about 2 minutes in what is being listened to. It often does not reboot and requires being switched off and then on again to reboot. Revo say it is not their fault but due to the signal stream from the broadcasters. Revo cannot explain why a laptop computer receiving the same stream, at the same time, from the same wireless LAN, running side by side, is not interupted. When this problem is resolved it will be good, until then stay with a computer.
