Still one of the best LCD
Bought the X3000 at a bargain price as ex-demo. I can tell you now this is one of the best LCD TV around. Only the top of the range Panys and Pioneers plasma is better on viewing movies. Other than that this X-series is the best all rounder. The connections is by far most generous compared with other TV's. It's still the most innovative in my opinion on design and looks. Only thing missing is the swivel stand and old dramas/films looks a bit rubbish compared to CRT.

A top of the line TV for a bit less
The only difference between this and the x3500 is that you can change the panelling on the front of the x3500. If you're happy with the black frame (as any film fan would be as it contrasts the best with the screen) than its better value for money than the x3500.
I got one just recently and it not only plays brilliant 1080p full bluray images, it makes lower res images liek broadcast and DVD look astounding too.

18 month review
I've had the 46" Sony X series now for 18 months. Overall I am very pleased with the TV, and as a big bonus, my wife thinks it is a good looking piece of kit too!
The picture quality is superb using a normal resolution Sky box form a distance , however as you would expect, close up it is quite grainy. High def really is superb with very dark blacks and superb bright colours.
Used with a HD video camera (Panny HDCSD1), the results are also superb - excellent contrast, fluid motion and good sound (if you can get rid of wind noise.
If you use a camera (mine is a Panny Lumix 12MP) to show your pictures, the results are absolutely brilliant - you will never want to look at your pics on a PC again.
The sound is pretty good and sometimes does make me look behind me thinking the background sound really is filling the room. You do need to use a proper cinema system for the full effect though.
The TV does give out a lot of heat which is a winter benefit!
Overall a superb piece of kit despite a pretty hefty price tag. If I had the choice over again I would not hesitate to make the same purchase.
Regards,
Darren

Fantastic TV
I've now had this TV for over a year and I have to say it's been a fantastic purchase. Picture quality with blu-ray is crisp, clear and detailed with great colours. I also like the surround too, though appreciate some wont. My TV has one dead green pixel but it can't be seen during normal viewing at a normal distance, only close up on a black background. This is a 100Hz TV but I see no motion bluring at all with video or PS3 games. The new 200Hz makes little or no difference in my opinion. I'm very fussy about quality and it was just over £2000 when I bought it so I wanted the best and I got it. The TV has very good upscaling with standard def freeview and DVD source. I can't praise this TV enough and have been very happy with it over the past 12 months and have no motivation to upgrade for a few years yet.
Gem of an LCD TV
Had this TV since May 2008, expensive but stunning picture on Sky HD and the PS3 was built for this viewing experience with Bluray and HD gaming.
I would recommend to anyone wanting to go large with an LCD TV as it has the best all round technical capabilities in its class.
