This is a totally excellent radio and the extra speaker makes perfect sense in the kitchen, as you move around, you have top quality, clear sound for words and music, even at low volume, everywhere. If you can afford to spend this much, do it, the reception is excellent, the speaker cable very long, very easy to use and it's beautiful, too.
