LE46F86 WORTH THE WAIT
Had this TV on order for a month after seeing a friends set, 100hz and 25000 contrast is impressive numbers but whats it like for real? and im not a technical sort of guy, well its huge for one :-) it took me all of 10mins to get it up and running inc opening the box (which was huge) needs 2 people to lift due to size not particually its weight, connected scart to sky box turned it on entred date time and way it goes---WOW!!! Watched transformers in HD last night --fantastic! sound good for stand alone, but try "THE INCREDIBLES" dvd through my upscaler HD/DVD player was like watching a different movie even though my kids have made me watch it several times! Blinding set, paid around £1400 lot of money but nothing else will get you this performance and size for yer hard earned.

great tv!
Have had this for around a week now and after playing around with the settings with different sources of video, I'm convinced this is a super TV! But one word of caution to potential buyers....if you wish to simply take it out of the box and plug and play, you may be disappointed with the results. This TV needs a fair bit of calibration, but once achieved, its as good as the best plasmas in terms of blacks and colours. Needless to add this is undoubtedly one of the best looking TVs out there. SD picture is better than many similar TVs and upscaled DVD and HD is brilliant. TV sound is also pretty good. No complaints in terms of sepcs.

Exceptional Unit - But not plug and play
I've had this TV for a week. After much research I took the plunge for the Samsung LE46F86BD, and I have clearly made the right decision. What a great looking set, very cool, with smooth, sleek lines. The picture is very good. The internal freeview is sharp and my Sky+ performs very well too. As with all LCD's there are still issues around the "fuzzness" around fast moving objects, but by being able to use the 100Hz processor in this set, this is reduced to a minimum. I don't have a blu-ray player but I am upscaling to 1080i through my Samsung DVD player, which is totally mindblowing, my collection of DVD's has come to life.
One word of caution as per other reviews, this set does take some time to set up. It arrives in "Dynamic" mode with colours which are very lurid. However, spend some time chaging these setting and you will be rewarded with a great performing and great value set. There are also many menu's and sub menu's to use to tweak the setting to your liking....Samsung could be accused of giving you too much choice.
All in all a great set, very highly recomended, but it helps to have a home cinema kit and at the very minimum an upsacling DVD player or you will miss out on the areas where this TV is a class leader.

Great TV with a bit of glitches
I bought this TV a week back, Have spend hours on it. It is a great TV. I played some video which I took with Sony HDR-SR8E, they were really amazing. It is impossible for me to describe it; you need to see it for yourself. A piece of advice, if you buy this Tele have some HD content to view, otherwise you would be missing something great. For folks who are planning to buy it, here are few things which I was very unhappy about:
- Audio output lags the TV speaker, thus if you are planning to use the audio output with a home theater system then you need to mute the TV otherwise you will hear two distinct sounds
- USB port allows you to view jpg and play mp3. The navigation and utility of this option leaves a lot room for improvement. I was thinking of using this as an optional photo frame, but :(
- If you are a cleanness freak, then you have a very tough time keep the TV clean, as this tele is dust magnet
- Screen reflects quite a lot, thus if are planning to use the TV in a bright room, you will find it difficult to avoid the strong reflection.

Nice!!!
Even though i'm still a kid i've got to voice my opinion on this television. Owning an xbox 360 console allows me to immerse myself in the wonderfully colourful screen (dynamic) and I must say it is a gaming experience from start to finish, the game world proves to be much clearer and much more enjoyable than a 37" LCD and you can begin to appreciate the effort put into the games through the clarity of the smaller details. (like Halo 3 :D) -Also i've noticed that you don't see as much reflection with this tele so you don't need to close curtains to make sure you don't miss any spots when playing first person shooters; but you can still see light refelction (as in lights that dangle from the ceiling)-
Freeview is really clear and very nice to watch and cartoons are now super sharp and extremely colourful (but not over colourful so it hurts your eyes.)Watching HD films seem so realistic as explosions and fires seem clear as the human eye could make out.
"The smaller things make the bigger things in life...Fact!" The touch pad on the side and the touch on/off switch (with a blue glowwy light! )truly was extremely nice to play with and you are overcome with a sense of childness (like oooo look at me play with this cool toy). Also the unit as a whole (even when off) still look really nice and modern with clear bits on a side and wait for it... a swivel stand!!!
However, one major criticism which left me wondering why?... the remote control is really tacky. Its got to be said, I was expecting a fancy silver remote with a gazillion buttons and shiny bits and loads of cool stuff but whatyou get is a black block. Not even shiny... just a matte block with its best feature being a tacky orange backlight which only lights up 4 buttons. I mean even the Sky remote controller looked better!! (the white one) and I thought that looked hideous...
Nevertheless I still think this tele has made my life (well for this week anyway) and I will be looking forward to those times i'm sitting at home, smashing away on the games controller staring in awe, completely oblivious to the outside world :D
