hopelessly complicated to use, and impenetrable instruction naunual in digital-only format, so you can't even flick through it. Estimated time from connecting it up to getting a decent print at the right size from a jpg image in your files, at least 2 hours!
Epsom T285 bag of bolts
Epsom R285 the photos are great but the noise is cronic, it sounds like a bag of bolts and vibrates so much the desk shakes. The up side of the is the cat no longer sits on the deck, it use so much ink its unbelieveble.
another good epson product
The Epson R285 printer does better quality printing than the R265, which I also have, and uses the same cartridges, which are readily available at a low price. I am always amused at the amount of noise that Epson printers make, which does not worry me but might upset a quiet office.

Epson Pig
This printer was bought to supplement my existiig Canon 6600D as I wanted to do a run of 500 printed CDs in a day. Well where to start??? This printer is slow..the Canon will happily churn out 3 CD prints to every one the Epson manages to print. It is so flimsy and has an 'disposable' build quality. It is certainly not like the Epsons of old not by a long chalk, Genuine inks are expensive and it drinks ink like you wouldn't believe! It clonks about its business at snail pace, the only saving grace is the actual print quality is rather good on it's highest quality setting...average on other settings.

Great Printer
Another great printer that i've had from Epson. If only Epson thought about their customers when it comes to buying ink. I've had quite a few printers, the last few being R200 ,R300,R265 and now this R285.
Not a lot between them to be honest. I use compatible inks,i just hope they work with this one. I object to buying 2 sets of inks that cost the same as the printer. I'll send another review when the time comes to replacing the carts (shouldn't be too long.)
