Superb, cheap printer!!

Nov 26, 2007 - By Mr. J.A.S. (UK)

Wow what a bargain! Having bought this from Amazon for £41 and then claiming back £20 from Canon during their cashback offer period this has got to be one of the cheapest printers around. Ive not had much need to use it yet but have tried all the print/copy and scan functions and all work really well. Print quality is excellent and fairly quiet and very quick. Box includes black and colour ink but not the USB lead but i dont think any printer actually puts one of those in the box!! For a printer that only cost me a total of £21 i dont think there is a better offer around!

Welcome back to Canon!

Nov 28, 2007 - By Mr. R. V. Malin (Warwickshire, England)

Wow! Even though I seem to have dipped out on the £20 cashback offer from Canon, this printer seems like exceptional value for money at just £45. As soon as you extract it from the box (even the box exudes quality!) you know this is a top notch printer. It was a cinch to load the software and although I have only just started using it, it works a treat! The ink cartridges are not cheap but I bought a pair today for £24 on Ebay which is good value for genuine replacements. Compatibles don't seem to have appeared yet and I am reluctant to use them on a brand new printer anyway.
Just for information, my Epson DX4000 and CX3650 have both now rendered themselves useless. After a while, the later Epsons start to display a warning that the printer has parts reaching the end of their service life and that you must take it to a service centre. You can ignore this message for a while but then you will eventually find that the printer will not accept replacement cartridges, Epson or otherwise. I have downloaded a program off the internet for resetting this, but so far it does not have the DX4000 on its list. The 3650 is still working but I fear it is on borrowed time! I think the message relates to the ink pads being full. (These catch the excess ink during the head parking operation.)
For lighter domestic use you may never get this message but I am glad to try the Canon as my next printer. In fairness, the Epsons have given good service and for what they cost I have no real complaint. The upside to the Epsons is the cheap compatible cartridges that are readily available.
Phew, that was a long winded review! You won't regret buying this Canon if you just want a simple to use all-in-one.

Cheap Canon Printer MP210

Jan 20, 2008 - By Leslie A. Monday (GB)

I have been a big fan of Canon for a while now and very pleased with all their equipment. I have a Epson scanner which is rubbish (bad colour reproduction etc) and when the mp210 came up for £25(with £20 cash back) I jumped at the chance. The reason for only 3 stars is not the quality which is very good but the lack of other things it cannot do-: Print on CD's, only one paper tray, and a lot more besides. There is only one colour cartridge which means if it runs out of one colour even if there plenty of other colours left in the tank you have to buy another. On the scan side it is better than the Epson. Its a stand alone scanner (no computer required) multi scan (for scanning photos which means you can put 3 or 4 photo's in, set it on auto and it copies and crops automaticaly. I think if you want an all in one just for printing letters and general scanning than you can't go wrong at this price it is excellent but if you want somthing more, then go for the upmarket Canon in the Pixma ip4500 range. I also have a Pixma ip5000 which has every thing I need but use the mp210 for general day to day work, these better printers are not that much more these days.

Printers don't come better than this

Mar 3, 2008 - By H (At my computer)

After scouring the internet for information on a decent, inexpensive printer I decided on the Canon PM210. What a fabulous choice I made.

If you are after a printer, scanner and copier which gives good quality photos then this is for you. It has to be the best printer I've ever purchased. Easy to set up, you don't even need the instructions, it really is that simple.

I was worried about the photo quality printing but it's almost perfect. No complaints at all.

So go on, if you're looking for a printer which is inexpensive but does it all you really cannot go wrong with this one - after all, I would not be writing this review if I thought otherwise, maybe it will help someone to purchase this and be as pleased with their new printer as I am.

So far so good...

Nov 10, 2007 - By Tony Rose (London)

Have only had this printer for a short period of time but it seems to be performing well, and the colour photocopying feature is an added bonus. It is especially good value when you consider the fact that some printer's colour replacement cartridge cost almost as much as this printer (though cartridges for this one are still expensive, but then again this is the case with all printers these days, ie the manufacturers make their money from cartridges and other supplies, not the printers themselves).
