Fabulous printer

Nov 10, 2007 - By P. Grimsell (Bristol)

Printer arrived yesterday. Set up with no problems in about 30mins.
Like other Canon printers no USB cable is provided but that's hardly a major extra expense - and in my position would have been useless if it had been the common 1.8m length!

First impressions - whisper quiet (except when head cleaning) and much faster than my outgoing Epsom.

Printed Text is clear and sharp. 'Copied' sheets match the orginal. Scanning produced excellent results (although with an increase in noise in line with standalone scanners), a nice touch is the softwares abililty to adjust the scanned image to remove the artifacts of the scanner.

Printed an A4 photo page of 4 images. The included software made the selection and layout a breeze, and the quality of the Photos has us amazed - indistinguishable from the internet printshops.

Can't comment on the ink usage as despite all the playing the ink leves show no reduction!! (Better than typical reviews of equivalent Epsoms where the set up seems to drain the 'free' cartridges).

In short I would have no hesitation in recommending this printer/copier/scanner. Check you have room for it though

So easy.

Nov 27, 2007 - By Doreen Dowling (France)

Two weeks ago, I purchased the Canon Prisma MP 520. The set up was so easy and within minutes I was addicted to it. I have made personal calendars, printed off numerous photographs and still the original ink cartridges are showing adequate ink in them. The colours are superb as good as any I have seen from print shops. It is so quiet and quick.
I would thoroughly recommend this product to any would be purchases of a new printer.
Doreen.

Amazingly easy to set up and use

Feb 4, 2008 - By Mr GSP

I bought this printer as the reviews I read were generally positive and the printer had all the functions I was looking for. The printer arrived and I put off installing it until the next day as I thought it might need a bit of time to install. However, I was significantly surprised and impressed when I had it up and running within 15 mins. The instructions and pictures included are very comprehensive and easy to follow. Once the installation disc was put in disc drive the only thing that would make it difficult would be if you were unable to read!

I have tried all the functions of the printer and am happy with all of them.

Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking of purchasing this model.

Excellent quality, very quiet and actually quite compact

Feb 1, 2008 - By Mr. J. Hunt (Oxford, UK)

I bought this as I needed a good quality colour printer, scanner and photocopier (it also has a fax which I haven't used).

The print quality, especially if you use proper glossy paper, is amazing ! Really can't distinguish it from a 'proper' photo. It's also amazingly quiet and very quick (far, far quicker than my HP Deskjet printer)

The scan quality is also exceptional.

A nice feature of this printer is that you can 'close it up' so it doesn't sit there collecting dust in the difficult to reach bits. So whilst it's not a mini-printer it is actualy quite self contained.

Setup is very easy - remember to install the Canon utilities / apps for the scanning side of things.

I don't know about ink usage yet - but it doesn't seemt to be too thirsty. Even on draft mode the quality is excellent.

If you want a high quality, multi-function printer for a very reasoanble price - then this has to be very near the top of the list.

A great product having all the benefits of an all rounder

Feb 3, 2008 - By Mr. D. Kansara (U>K)

I chose this product in order to replace my excellent HP C5280 all in one printer which i gave to my niece for her school work. I wasn,t keen on spending £100+ on a printer, so as this printer had good reviews i decided to go for it. The others seem to be correct. Although the scanner has a lower resolution than my previous all in one, i hardly noticed the difference. The individual ink cartridges are reasonably okay as it claim there is thirteen mills of ink in colour and 20 mills in the black one which is not too bad considering there are four of them although they cannot be refilled like my previous printer(Which depends on the condition of the cartridge and can only be refilled a few times if your lucky)are an add. Although a little noisier during copying than my previous printer, overall it was okay as the c5280 was a little noisier during start up. I found the printer is okay for low to medium text and picture mix usage. It took fine quality photo prints, although there was a shade of grey tint in the yellows. Altogether a great product having the benefits of an all rounder.
