To work on a standard Sky + box:
Press TV, hold Select & i together until the LED light flashes twice, press 1 then Select.
It now operates the standard box, looks nicer than standard remote and is cheaper!

This Sky HD remote control is identical to the one supplied with my Amstrad Sky+ HD box. It is also manufactured by Universal Electronics BV in Holland like my original - not by Philips - and is very high quality and excellent value for less than a tenner! Delivered very promptly by Amazon's seller Buyme.
This remote will also control a standard Sky+ box, and is similarly styled but slightly smaller than the remotes normally provided with those boxes. All the previous Sky remote controls I have owned, whether for Digiboxes or Sky+, have by default also controlled Sony brand TVs - this one did not and I had to programme it manually. Owners of other brand TVs probably know how to do this already but Sony owners may not have had to do it before. If you have an Amstrad HD box you can find this information on page 61 of the User Guide.
However, if you've lost your book then follow these steps. With Sky and TV on press TV on remote - then press the Select and Red Buttons together until LED blinks twice - press TV again - enter code for Sony TV, 0000, LED blinks twice - press Standby (top right button) on remote, TV switches off - press Select on remote, LED blinks twice - remote should now control TV too. I have a Sony Bravia TV and this worked fine for me, if it doesn't work for you there are other options in the book or some online help sites.

The buttons have a great 'positive' feel.
I'm using it temporarily for Sky+ until I get the HD installed, so Trevor's codes for changing it to work on SKY+ came in very handy. (Worked first time)
I assume to convert it back to work on SKY HD will probably be as simple as leaving the batteries out for 10mins or so. This resets previous sky remotes, so I see no reason for it not to work on this one. anyway the remote comes with a helpline no. to Universal (Philips) so they would advise if there were any problems.
So, if you need this as a replacement or to use with multi-room, either for SKY+ or SKY+ HD I would highly recommend it.
Oh, and buy the way... the usual great price and quick delivery from Amazon.

Great remote at great price, matches our other original Sky HD remote, is far cheaper than most prices for this product.
