But the major flaw is that the volume for the radio alarm cannot be adjusted. The factory setting is simply too loud and as such I am returning the product to Amazon. Philips have a great customer feedback section and confirmed within 24 hours that the sound level of the alarm volume cannot be changed. A major flaw in otherwise nice piece of kit.
Fantastic Sound

Hodder on Apr 7, 2009 (Essex)I got this for the kitchen to replace my old Philips fm radio, From plug in, it practically does the set up for you, the sound quality from the single speaker is outstanding, it has a bass port at the back which does a great job of enhancing the bottom end. I have a pure chrono as my bedside clock and the Philips has a far superior sound.
I strongly recommend this DAB, for the price it cant be beat !

Brilliant just was I was looking for and at a decent price

Awsome sound - Shame about the display

Due to the Bass port in the back, the sound is full bodied, and fills the room as the volume goes up pretty loud as well.
The Alarm works OK, with selectable snooze times and option of Buzzer,Dab or FM to wake up to.
As mentioned on other reviews the radio comes on pretty loud in the morning if you select this option - But personally I have the buzzer wake me up, and this starts off quiet, and gets louder if you ignore it.
The backlight on the display is quite bright at night, but I don't mind this too much as it acts as a night light.
My only slight gripe is that the time on the radio is quite hard to read at night as it's a bit small.
However I can easily live with this as the radio sounds soooo good !!
Don't delay - go ahead and buy it before price goes up again !!

Brilliant DAB Radio!!!

Easy to set up and the sound quality is excellent...it can also go really loud. Due to the excellent sound and deep bass, naturally it isn't a tiny product but what you lose in space, you gain in sound. It's easy to move it around with the handle and I use it all over the house and outside. If you're looking for a brilliant DAB radio, this is the one to get.
