Can't say much about it really, I had run out of USB sockets (I only have four at the back of the computer and don't want to leave permanent connections at the front. I now have another three as one is used by the item removed to plug the hub in, actually I have two spare as the item (external hard drive) I needed the hub for, is plugged in. My only regret is not getting one with more sockets as I only have two spare, but I don't envisage getting many more USB peripherals that will be permanently connected. Camera, phone and scanner go in the front when needed. With only the two items connected it works without the power supply plugged in, I assume it will be needed if I connect anything else.
