very sleek looking stand (as you can see), my only concern is if your cooling vents (air intake) for your laptop is on the underside, there isn't much room for breathing down there, and BEWARE laptops of 17 inchs and above..this is too small!!
also if your cd pops out from the front (as mine does) then you have yet another problem (you have to physically lift your laptop if you want to use your optical drive)

I have had this now for over a week and it is a pleasure to use with my laptop. The screen is at a better height for viewing without looking down. Your keyboard is well presented and find it very comfortable to type at this angle. There are no real issues with regards to air regulation. It offers more than lying your laptop flat on your desk. This is designed for any laptop size. I am using a 17" MacBook, yes, it over hangs the width of the dock but that's not a bad thing, it is perfectly stable. I would recommend this to anyone. It looks good, if you use your laptop on your lap you would need something like a cushion underneath for comfort, it's not designed for that purpose but still works great. When you go to get a coffee you can put it on the floor without worrying about carpet hair etc being sucked in. Same goes if you rest your laptop on your bed, great air intake and better viewing. Money well spent.

This product does the basic job, looks very elegant and is an inexpensive solution. However, the moulding of the example I received was a bit rough in places and not accurate enough to hold the laptop perfectly level (about 1/4" out). The edge of the stand also had a small chip out of it (not visible with laptop in place). As the stand is not adjustable, taller people may find it does not raise the laptop sufficiently.

This is an incredibly stylish and elegant stand - its see-thru plastic makes it all the more appealing.

However there are two major problems in my opinion:
a) cannot adjust height/angle - big problem if your taller/shorter, and your desk is at a different height too.
b) ports: if you have any ports at the front of your laptop, you won't be able to access them well. If can plug it in, but you have to make sure the laptop sits "higher" on the stand.

I'd recommend you see in in-person first and then make your mind up. If those two problems I mentioned doesn't affect it, its an awesome stand.

Great, well-built and stylish stand.

My laptop is a 15" Sony VGN-FZ180E and the Alto is indispensable when sitting at my desk workng on the computer. It raises the screen to a much more comfortable level without taking up any more space on the desk. Plus, now I can hide the power brick beneath the stand so that my work space looks much less cluttered. Makes the laptop look much sexier too!

Overall, highly recommended.
