I was looking for (a) travel speakers and (b) a travel charger for my iPod (80GB Classic). These fit the bill all-in-one.

One of the key reasons I like these is that they're lightweight, and fold away nicely. The volume, whilst unlikely to keep your neighbours awake at night, is more than sufficient for most people's needs - I'm currently using them in my kitchen, and the volume's great.

The only downside I've seen so far is that they're not very bass-y, but at this price, it's a minor quibble.

One point: your iPod won't charge whilst it plays - you need the lead that would normally connect your iPod to your PC and this then slots into the plug for the speakers (which is detachable).

I recieved my speakers a few days ago now and i can't stress how great they are. Yes they are reasonabley priced and to be honest i wasnt expecting much. How wrong i was! These little fold away speakers are worth their weight in gold when sat by a pool or away camping or just generally being outdoors and you just dont want to plug your ear phones in. They kick out enough base and sound for you to have a chilled out background sound anywhere. I would say these speakers were invaluable to anyone travelling or anyone who doesnt want to carry a big piece of hardware to get some music where they go. They are small when folded away so you can take them anywhere and the added bonus of there being a power adapter is the icing on the cake. Power adapters alone can be worth half the value of what you are paying for the Lupo speakers so its pretty amazing that you get this adapter aswell as the speakers and remember the power adapter can be used to charge your ipod when you need to so no need to go and buy one. I highly recommend this product to anyone. Easy to use, small and compact and a general must have to anyone with an ipod / MP3/4 player.

I found it very difficult when looking for travel speakers (my old Tchibo ones just broke) to be sure exactly what's in the package, particularly in the area of mains power. These ones can run off 4 AAA batteries but also come with a neat little Lupo UK mains plug which delivers 5V, 150-500mA to a standard USB plug. That powers the speakers fine (cable supplied) and will also charge my mobile phone - one less charger to pack in future. These speakers are also very neat when folded up - the cable to plug into the MP3 player is completely protected as are the delicate speaker bits, which fold against each other. A real plus is that I'm not wasting money paying for an iPod dock.

In use the sound is pretty good for such tiny speakers. Clear, with plenty of volume for a hotel room. Distortion only sets in when you really wind up the volume. There's not a lot of bass but the sound is pretty good overall.

When I placed my order I fully expected the postage and packing to be more than the 1p I was charged for these great little speakers, but for under a fiver I am seriously impressed!
The speakers are in one piece and fold out to function, so they are very easy to store/transport - no fiddly assembly or chance of losing any bits. The speakers provide ample sound - you won't burst an eardrum, or upset the neighbours, but you will be able to listen to your favourite CD at a level that is pretty good.

I BOUGHT THESE FOR THE COLOUR TO MATCH MY IPOD AND FOR THEIR COMPACT SIZE TO EASILY PACK FOR MY HOLIDAYS. THE SOUND IS CLEAR AND ADEQUATE FOR HOLIDAY TO GET READY FOR A NIGHT OUT. A BONUS IS THE VOLUME CONTROL.
