A Great little Sat Nav which can't be faulted for the money

(4 out of 5) by G. Pickavance on Sep 1, 2007 (Wales)
I bought the Acer after reading several reviews (I like to research everything that I buy to make sure that I'm getting the best for my money), on the whole the reviews I read were very positive, with the only negative seeming to be the fact that it's 'just' a basic sat nav with no added mp3, bluetooth or kitchen appliance attached, which was great, as that's exactly what I wanted, a compact basic but good sat nav to help me navigate the new city I'll soon be moving to.

First of all the negatives......

The maps aren't competely up to date even though this is a brand new model, it didn't recognise some of the roads I've travelled on even though they've been there a couple of years.

The touch screen can be very sensitive, jumping forward a couple of stages if you haven't got a delicate touch!

The instructions can be a little repetative, advising you which exit to take at a roundabout four times on approach.

There's no carry pouch included.

And the good bits...........

Great build qualty, solid, compact and light.

Great interface, very user friendly.

Exhaustive points of interest list, more so than another unit I used recently which cost twice as much.

Gets up and running very quickly and straight out of the box.

If you take a wrong turn, it recalculates the route in a flash.

Over all, a very competant basic sat nav at a bargain price, would I buy again...............yes I would.

one big failure

(1 out of 5) by Winiarski on Feb 20, 2008 (UK)
I bought it and it's useless. It loses signal very often and
indicates wrong streets so once I could see myself driving through
the buildings in city centre.

Good but one huge negative

excellent system very pleased.
Only one negative -
doesnt actuallt fit in my car! My boyfriend had to hold it our entire journey.
I have a peugeot 206 and the way the angle of the front windscreen means the sat nav does not fit on in ANY way. tried everything but the sat nav ends up facing the floor or the roof. Gutted. Tried the ACER website and so on.. but finding it a nightmare to find alternative cradles for it.
