Was first attracted by the price, then realised how many features it has, 3.5mm jack input for virtually any audio device, USB memory stick input for mp3's or DivX movies, Multiregion capable (code on the amazon page works !) HDMI up Scaling output too.
The speakers are of good quality, especially the centre speaker and Subwoofer, the tallboy speakers are also very good, by default they are for the rear speakers but I have used them for the font speakers instead.
Set up was very easy, speaker cables have colour coded plugs for ease of use and the manual (although hardly required) is very easy to follow, although the bass is not exactly thumping in your chest, the sound quality is very crisp and all in all I'm highly delighted with my purchace and will recommend to others.

This system has a really good picture, upscaled nicely onto my panasonic plasma. However, the front and rear surround speakers emit a loud hissing noise, even at zero volume, which was unbearably intrusive when watching movies and listening to music, even at medium volume levels. The hiss seems to get even louder as the system remained switched on.
I returned the first system for a replacement, but unfortuately the replacement also has the same problem, so its going back for a refund. My 5 year old kenwood surround system which i wanted to replace with this Philips HTS3357 did not have this problem so i cannot blame my living room environment for any speaker interferance, and to be sure, i tried the Philips system in another room, but the problem remained.

£150 for a great system - no hizz, sound quality is fantastic and the unit looks the part. Highly recommended.

I bought this system yesterday and I am happy for it. Sound quality is excellent and the installation is very easy. There are lot of features we can use, I have connected my Sky box to this system using a stereo cable and its working fine. Excellent HTS for 150 pounds.

I placed an order for this item late yesterday afternoon, with a first-class delivery date two days later. Imagine my surprise and delight when my order arrived this morning, a full day earlier than estimated!
Setting up my new DVD home theatre system was simplicity and the superb sound and picture quality enhancements surpassed even my expectations of what to expect from such a reasonably priced system.
Overall I am absolutely delighted with my purchase and highly impressed with the service from Amazon and Parcelforce. Especially as the same item in two major electrical retail stores is being sold for at least £30 more than I paid for my system!
