Sony Ericsson rules again!

Aug 17, 2007 - By J. C. Davies (liverpool)

Better in my opinion than the W880i cos its actually bigger than a credit card and you can text without worrying that it might fall between your fingers!! a few ppl seem to have a problem with the camera on this phone but it is the best 2MP camera ive seen on a phone and has a really good flash. the buttons r v unique and it makes texting v easy. also a nice looking phone and has good mp3 capabilities being a walkman phone

My Fifth and Favorite Sony Ericsson

Sep 10, 2007 - By Mohid Miah (Southampton, UK)

From the S700-K750-W850-W880 to the W610, i must say this one keeps the Sony Tradition. With a Sleek, funky and Chunkier than-w880 styling, this phone keeps all the feature of previous phone with added durability and shock absorbing shell. The front has a unique look but the razor button might be a bit difficult to text with for big-thumbed people.
Like the W880/W850, this camera packs a juicy 2MP but with the added auto focus feature in mind, it keeps the w660 away for those who want a better camera. It also uses the same core camera unit from the K750 but upgraded to meet the photographers requirement and produces outstanding pictures thanks to its triple lens which boasts auto focus, macro and Infinite (like W850). (Also you cant zoom in 2MP mode but there is a way around this: Take a pic of the target without zoom, then in your camera album, view in landscape and zoom with the volume buttons)
The Speaker unit has been upgrade to 72-channels so there is much clearer, quality sound and software includes the latest Walkman-2 music player.
The screen however let me down on this; its an TFD (not TFT) which means that, although it uses less battery, you sacrifice abit of resolution than the modern resolution (176x144 screen in W610i, 240x??? in W850). In sunlight, this screen can be extremely difficult to see.
Overall i say this is and excellent product for those who don't want a moving-part phone such as the W580 or a phone without a competitive camera such as the W660 and want to keep the style and quality feel of a SE. I say this model feels like the spiritual successor of the K750/w800/w810 range but slimmer.
