Excellent picture & value

Jun 13, 2007 - By Martin (Essex, UK)

As no-one else has reviewed this, and I've recently purchased, I thought I would take the time to review. Received this set yesterday, and found the set-up as easy as you would expect with a modern TV. Plug & play setup worked effortlessly, found all the Freeview channels, even though I live in a poor reception area. The controls are all logical, and don't require any reference to the manual. Picture quality is excellent - sharp, with good contrast and deep colours. Sound quality seems fine, though I've only watched TV so far, no DVD's yet.
Aesthetically, the TV is well designed and looks as good as any other sets out there. I don't consider myself an audiophile or expert on picture quality, but then neither are most people who would buy this TV, so if you don't want a huge TV, that looks good, with built in Freeview, around £400 this will not disappoint.

In reply to questions: Yes this accepts a normal RF aerial (that's what I've got) and No, I have not tried to link it to any computers (PC or Mac) or consoles

Really pleased!!

Nov 11, 2007 - By Edible Chef (Royston,Cambridgeshire)

After much deliberation about what make and size TV I wanted for my bedroom, I decided to go for this Sharp LC26ADE and I'm seriously happy that I did.

I found it dead easy to set up, from fixing the stand to the actual TV unit through to automatic tuning. At the moment I am using one of the two SCART leads (for my freeview box), but none of the HDMI ports at the side as I have the normal white Xbox 360 as opposed the the elite system.

When I first connected my 360 to the TV, for the first few days I thought I had it displaying in HD, but after discovering the TV/HD switch at the back of the plug going into the 360 I fixed the problem and was completely blown away by how vibrant the television displays the true potential of the Xbox 360. If anyone is wondering, this TV can be set to 1080i output on the 360 display menu.

Overall I am well and truly happy that I made this purchase. The sound is excellent from the TV. The speakers are just under where the TV display is and not built into the set, which I have seen in some other LCD televisions. The only negative point I can add is that the remote feels a little bit cheap and also takes some time to get used to (such as changing display i.e. Panorama, Full, Wide). However this is a very minor niggle and does not keep me up at night. I hope I have informed other people about this TV and made it easier for them when deciding which one to go for.

Awesome TV

Oct 28, 2007 - By ER Witcombe (Hampshire, England)

Just bought this TV and I am extremely impressed with it.

Set up was fast and easy and the TV looks great in the room as well.

I have connected it to my xbox 360 and the picture is amazing and really crisp. The sound quality is also brilliant, definately as good as the sony bravia we also have in the house.

All in all this is a fantastic HD Ready Freeview TV for the price and I would definately consider it if you are thinking about getting a new set.

Great value for money.

Nov 19, 2007 - By Mr. E. A. Greenlay (Leeds, UK.)

This is the first LCD TV I have bought and after doing the usual market research decided upon the Sharp.
I have no regrets at all.
The picture is very good and the sound is excellent.
No problems encountered and very happy with the price and quality of the goods.
I have since seen other TVs in the same price bracket and they don't hold a candle to this one.

Forget the Rest, Buy the Best

Nov 7, 2007 - By Paul (County Durham)

This set is awesome, cant fault it. I went to a High Street store who set up a Panasonic, a Sony, a Samsung and this Sharp. It blew them all away and looked more expensive than its higher priced rivals.

Buy it, you won't be dissapointed. *****
