Best 50" Plasma on the market

Sep 9, 2007 - By R. Karim (UK)

This is the best 50" 1080p Plasma on the market. I have the PED version- sat on a black glass stand (make sure its a big stand). Looks awesome, fantastic crisp picture from Sky HD, even better connected to PS3. No ghosting or any kind of blurring. Lots of bright colours and detail. If you buy this then your life will be happy.. as the song goes.. should be hooked up to surround sound system (make sure its a decent set up too). On board speakers are OK for normal tv but not for gaming or movies. What else can I say... go and buy it.

Don't worry about the cost.

Nov 18, 2007 - By Bill Payer (Cheshire UK)

I have the pedestal version and was very worried that my money wouldn't buy much better than than a std CRT apart from size. I was never able to see HD programmes at any of the dealers I visited just the odd blu ray display and these looked fantastic. I spent hours trying to decide which was the better picture LCD or PLASMA. PLasma certainly has the edge for contrast and fast action scenes.
I arranged for a Sky HD box to be installed before delivery and the first programme I viewed live in HD was Man U live from Old Trafford and I found I could barely concentrate on the action because the picture was so unbelievably good, I just kept looking round the the whole of the screen, actual faces in the crowd not blobs, warts on the referees nose etc etc. I followed this up with some Sky HD wildlife offerings, just be prepared to be shocked by the blood and guts of the kill. If you "still" the picture using the hold button you could believe you were looking at a photograph. To sum it up SD transmission quality is excellent- far better than a CRT but HD is fantastic. Don't worry about the cost go and buy one.
