It does what it says
I think its brilliant, you plug it in and it works, straight away. It's interface is as logical as you will get. Have a scart lead ready, it won't work without one.

Excellent!
The DMR-EX77EB-k is my third Panasonic DVD recorder, the first two are still giving good service for other members of my family.
After a few weeks of ownership, I'm very pleased with it and think it is a fantastic tool for someone like me, who records and saves a lot of TV to disc.
I was previously using a Humax PVR to record from freeview to hard drive, before dubbing 'real time' to disc, pausing out the adverts and overrun etc. I was delighted to find that with the EX77, I was able to partially erase all the unwanted bits and add my own chapters in no time at all before high speed dubbing to disc.
I had read the reviews here, so knew before purchasing that time slip only worked whilst making a recording. I only ever utilised this feature a couple of times in all the time I owned a PVR, so I'm not really that upset at losing the facility.
I've still to master one or two of the functions but am totally satisfied with my purchase so far.
I can't believe a previous reviewer calling it a joke, when he hadn't even tried it because his unit was unfortunately DOA.
I've never had a problem with Amazon swapping any faulty goods and can only hope that this gentleman has been now been sorted out and is eating his words.

great simple machine
in response to the review saying the picture is not as sharp as the separate box,i have mine hooked up to the panasonic th-42px700 through the hdmi cable upscaled, believe me the picture is fantastic, panasonic say it's an all new tuner in this model which tackles the problem of block noise in the picture and for me it does,i also have a couple of seperate digi-boxes,the brillant sony vtx-d800,in my opinion the best set-top box ever built but through the same tv looks too sharp in comparison to the dmr-ex77,this recorder for me personally is a perfect partner for the hd plasma panels,i have 2 of these recorders & i can't fault them in any area, with 1080p upscaled recording & playback,i would highly recommend it,£220,worth every penny.

Very good
Bought this DVD recorder from Amazon just over a week ago and I must say I have been impressed with it. Records really well even at LP which gives you hours and hours of space on the hard drive.I have quite a bit on there now and still have over 90 hours free at LP.Most stuff looks ok in LP, football I find can be a bit blurry on LP as it is moving about a lot so I use SP for that but all other programmes I use LP...its good quality and better than your old video recorders imho! Copies fast to DVD-R's in about 6 mins....which includes 3 mins to finalize or it wont play on other DVD players. Records well to DVD-RAM discs (3 free with recorder)....these can be used again and again. Works really well with my SKY+ using scart connection and I have transferred lots of stuff to recorders hard drive and then disc. The only thing I have a niggle about is that it doesnt have a direct button where you can put in the exact time you want to go to the DVD you are viewing but that is nothing really...I just use the chapter button. All in all for £200 I believe you are getting a really good bargain.

Satisfaction Guaranteed
Not being too familiar with the new type of Hard Disc Digital recorders I did quite a lot of research before buying. I partially chose this model because I already have a Panasonic (patrick) Viera TV and it seemed to be the right partner. I Placed the order and had no problem with the web site. The delivery was scheduled for 7th December. It arrived on 6th December in good condition by Royal Mail. It was easy to set up and after reference to the instruction book I had no problems. The product does what it says so apparently at this time all is well. This is the third time I have ordered through AMAZON and so far I am very pleased with the service.
