I received my Zen Stone a couple of days ago and I absolutely love it! It's very easy to use with the software, which is downloaded from the Creative site. I ripped my favourite tracks from a number of albums and then transferred them to the stone using the drag and drop software. It was very easy and quick, and it would therefore be simple to change the tracks quite frequently - as obviously the storage is quite limited. I transferred about 200 tracks (at 128 bmp), some of wich were quite long. It is very simple to navigate to the different albums/folders using the button on the top. Once I have heard a second or two of a folder, I know whether its the one I'm looking for. I can then skip through the tracks using the buttons on the front. Obviously, it is nice to have a more sophisticated system for managing tracks, such as large Zen which sorts the tracks into album, genre, artist etc., but this isn't strictly necessary on a device which is designed to hold fewer tracks. I was a little dubious about it not having a screen, but have found that this really isn't a problem at all. The sound quality is excellent, and all in all I believe the Zen Stone represents excellent value for money.

You can always rely on Creative to make a good quality product and that's exactly what this is.
I have previously owned creative products before the Creative Zen Vision M to name one and it was brilliant, i still use it for videos, photo and putting all my albums on but the problem was it was too big and heavy to carry everywhere especially when using it in the gym. When i spotted this on Amazon at such a good price with free delivery i snapped it up right away. Playback on the device sounds great, its small, light and its easy to use even my mum can manage with it.
It says that 1gb will store 500 tracks at the specified settings but its unlikely your songs will be at these settings so most people will probably get 250 to 350 songs depending on the quality, size and format (MP3 or WMA). This is fine if like me your looking for a small, light weight player. I just put my favourite songs on it and leave it on shuffle i'm never in a situation were i will listen to more than 250 songs anyway.
The battery has a long life about 10 hours and is fully charged again in about 2 hours. They only thing is that it does not come with a mains adapter so it has to charged via a USB cable connected to your computer. This is not a problem at home but if on holiday it means you will have to shell out for an adapter or go without your music.
Transferring music to the player is a breeze you can simply drag and drop music into the player, which is what i do or you can download software from the creative web site which will rip tracks from a CD and automatically put them on your player for you, as well as moving tracks already stored on your computer. It's also compatible with Creative MediaSource Organiser if you have it from owning another Creative product which means you can keep the same familiar interface and library you are used to using.
The only thing i wish is that they gave better head phones with it, the ones supplied are okay but i prefer using better quality ones myself.
I've recommended the player to my mum and brother and they have both bought one since and they both love it.

I have finally dragged myself out of the techno dark ages and invested in a new MP3 player (I previously had an MPMan but after hardly any use it packed up on me). I ummed and ahhed about investing in a sleek silver iPod Nano for a while, went to the States and spent all my Nano Dollars on jeans and am so glad I did!
After much anticipation I received my Zen Stone this week and its just fantastic! The software interface is simple and easy to get to grips with and the MP3 player itself is a triumph of design, sleek, minimalistic, small but solid looking it makes you just want to pick it up and play with it.
Although I would have liked to see a few more LEDs on the Zen Stone, aesthetically I cannot fault it, the controls do look remarkably simialr to the iPod range but then that seems to be industry standard. Yes, the slide button is a little rattly when you touch it but somehow I find this rather endeering for some reason.
At a fraction of the price of a Nano and more streamlined looking than a Shuffle (who really wants an MP3 player that looks like a huge paperclip?!) I am so glad I decided to spend my Apple Dollars on jeans and purchase a Zen Stone instead (and hopefully it will last a darn sight longer than my MPMan!)
I am not sure why some people see the short USB lead as an issue, I personally hate all those long leads, just don't find them necessary and they just get tangled up. I love the short little lead, so much neater and easier. You don't need to do anything with the Zen Stone itself when transferring files or its charging, so if its tucked out of the way on a little lead, so much the better.
Well done Creative, not only does the Zen Stone give both the Shuffle (and in my book the Nano) a run for their money, it leave them on the starting blocks!

After reading all the good reviews I decided to purchase Zen Stone (black) and I was not dissapointed. It's very easy to operate and also easy to sync it with PC. The battery life is amazing . There is nothing bad to say about Zen Stone and with Amazon's prices you can't go wrong! Thoroughly recommended.

I bought this as a Father's Day present for my husband who had never expressed an interest in owning one. I was fed up of having to listen to his weird taste in music so I bought him this so he could listen in private.
When it arrived we were a little surprised at how small it is, but is lovely to hold, very tactile and compact. The buttons are all easy to find and you can operate it without looking at it as it doesn't have a screen. It is really easy to put music onto it and you just plug it into the computer to recharge. We tend not to download much, usually making playlists from our existing CD collection but it is easy to download stuff too.
This is so good that I am going to get myself a lime green one next pay day !!!
