I bought this TV for my sons room however shortly after the warranty expired the tv developed a fault. I had it repaired locally but now the dvd has failed and won't recognise the discs. I now wish i had spent the extra money and bought a quality known brand. don't buy this TV it is nothing but trouble.

I bought this television about a year ago, and in the first few months it seemed fine. There were some initial problems such as: the DVD player made some very odd, loud noises, it was very slow and jerky when you changed channels or looked at the programme guide and you had to press the buttons really hard for anything to happen. A few months passed and these problems started to really annoy me, the television was slower, the DVD noise had gotten a lot worse and there was a very off putting mechanical noise playing throughout any film you watched. Most annoyingly it takes about 10 minutes to actually turn it on! You press on, it goes back to standby, you do that about 20 times and you'll get sound but no picture, another 20 times later you finally get the television on and have missed most of the program you wanted to watch. I keep having to retune it all the time because it just "loses" channels, at the moment I have no itv/channel 4 related channels and about 10 channels in total! I would never buy another easytouch television and will have to fork out for another television because this one is AWFUL.
If you're thinking of buying it, don't.

I bought this item because it did everything it said on the tin... It doesn't.... And nor do Amazon, when after i called them (yes via talking to someone.!) with this faulty item just out of guarantee, they promised they would sort it out only to be left in cyberspace without a telephone reply... Oh but I did get (eventually) a reply by email, the easy way out because no-one has to think about what they are saying, "sorry not our problem". £200 to last 12.02 months..? Is everything disposable in this world now...??? £16.39 per month it cost me to give my kids a reasonable (or I thought a reasonable) telly to watch..?? Don't add up.. I could've rented a better telly with better guarantee for a lot less.. Not happy with the so called telly or with Amazon for NOT doing what they say.. Have used Amazon many, many times but not anymore, recession? customer service? more important to keep customers? NOT Amazon.. Not Happy.

Now had this TV for just over a year, and now have major issues with starting the TV from Standby, whether you either use the remote of the button on the side to start, the TV will attempt to start, but will just put itself back to standby. If you persist in trying to start it will eventually start, but not always with picture or sound. It's now been 4 weeks putting up with continuously restarting to eventually get it to work but now it doesn't even kick into life after dozens of attempts.

Both Manufacturer and Amazon are having nothing to do with fixing, as just outside of warranty. So I guess I either need to buy new or have fixed, either way won't be an Easy Touch product or from Amazon, both have let this customer down.

Search the web, you'll find a number of other customers having the same issue with this product, which would indicate a faulty design or component. I now need to find out if can be repaired and at what cost.
Do a bit of research first before buying this produce.

this tv breaks down and you cant get it fixed,when tv is on standbye you turn it on but it goes off,you then have to turn it on about 50 times.
