Absolute rubbish...

(1 out of 5) by Mr. Paul Millard on Jan 29, 2009 (UK)
I bought this item because it did everything it said on the tin... It doesn't.... And nor do Amazon, when after i called them (yes via talking to someone.!) with this faulty item just out of guarantee, they promised they would sort it out only to be left in cyberspace without a telephone reply... Oh but I did get (eventually) a reply by email, the easy way out because no-one has to think about what they are saying, "sorry not our problem". £200 to last 12.02 months..? Is everything disposable in this world now...??? £16.39 per month it cost me to give my kids a reasonable (or I thought a reasonable) telly to watch..?? Don't add up.. I could've rented a better telly with better guarantee for a lot less.. Not happy with the so called telly or with Amazon for NOT doing what they say.. Have used Amazon many, many times but not anymore, recession? customer service? more important to keep customers? NOT Amazon.. Not Happy.

Very disappointing

(2 out of 5) by Mr. R. Lake on May 4, 2008 (Essex, U.K.)
Ordered two of these. The first one was faulty as it had a massive scratch behind the screen within the LCD panel itself, and the replacement had dead pixels, making it unwatchable. The build is what you expect for a cheap TV. The packaging is awful and its badly supported in the box which means that it can get knocked about a bit in transit. Sound quality is average and the colour takes a lot of messing with to get a fairly average picture. The DVD is very noisy, but is multi-region which essentially the only thing that this model has going for it.

Good for the money

1. Yes Digital and analogue tuners need tuning in separately, but its not rocket science, Easy Touch have obviously updated the manual and I printed off the instructions posted on this Amazon page.
2. The DVD player is a little noisy on start-up but thereafter it's fine.
3. Picture quality is good for a piece of kit of this price, Freeview reception is good and DVD output seems ok.
4. Sound quality....Oh dear...its appalling, however I am a sound engineer so I am a little fussy about this. There is treble and bass controls that do nothing and the volume is poor too. Not a great problem for me as I bought this for my campervan and I use the headphone output to feed the AUX in of my van's Blaupunkt system so no problems there.

Summary. Ideal for caravan, campervan or kids bedroom, could be used as second TV in bedroom or kitchen but if you want to listen to it loud it will need to be fed into some external speakers. Value for money, ideal for my intended use if you want something better....spend more money!!!!
