Well worth the money

(5 out of 5) by Campbell J. Smith on Jan 2, 2009 (in a champagne Supernova in the sky)
I paid £84 for this Hifi just before Christmas 2008. It was delivered with amazing speed - less than 48 hours, instead of the normal, super saver speed which had been my choice. Great start.

The speakers are brilliant - 120 watts at full volume playing hard rock and it did not suffer any buzz or vibration. The conventional elements - radio, CD player and tape - are all very good but the clincher for me was the ability to play IPod shuffle via the USB port (not sure about the other Apple gadgets but I guess if they can be comnnected to a USB they'll be just fine) and it is capable of playing music from a Samsung mobile through it, again via USB. Fantastic.

All in all, a very good product, even if it has been priced up by £10. Still worth the money.

Solid, but a bit basic

(4 out of 5) by Richard Vessey on Apr 8, 2009
This is a good unit for the money, but in a world of multi-media it could use a few input and output options. That said, it does exactly what the description stated.
If you're looking for a straightforward unit for a small-medium sized room then this is perfect.

mP3 great but poor tuner

(3 out of 5) by Electroman on May 28, 2009 (Cambridge UK)
Looks a great piece of kit initially especially the ability to play mp3/WMA CDs and mp3s on USB keys but it does have some peculiarities. Big let down is radio as it has a manual tuning system, ie a knob to turn! This was a big surprise as I would expect a programmable tuner on every system these days. Cassette deck is a welcome extra over most mini systems and is semi concealed so you can pretend you don't have one! There is no headphone socket and the speakers have rather odd 4 wire connection which means that you cannot use better speakers. Technical design is heading the right direction but a manual tuner is so last century. Overall rather a disappointment.

this mini hi-fi is larger than I exspected it to be but never the less it is a great instrument gives me a great sound for my cd,s and tapes and that is what I wanted it for and of course the price was just right that is one of the reasons why I buy from amazon so keep up the good work
