Initially I tried to buy from play-but then they told me it would take at least a week to deliver. So I went to a shop in tottenham ct road. I managed to get it much cheaper than play.
The set-up is a simple and very helpful. It comes with a auto-tuning microphone to set-up the speaker levels. It sound great too. Now all I am waiting is for the blu-ray player -which is a bit too expensive - to enjoy full HD experience.
Top marks for sony for this great bargain amplifier...

I needed an amp as after 16 years with my last Sony amp, I felt it was time to upgrade. For this price, it's an absolute bargain. You can connect 7 speakers (7.1) and 4 sub woofers (one is enough!). It also has room for connecting many gadgets, including a port for an i-pod docker and HDMI for the ultimate sound. Anyway, you can read the technical spec elsewhere.
Quite frankly, it's magnificent. You can now have the cinema in your living room. I have two music experts friends and they were both blown away with the quality of sound that omitted from this outstanding machine. Sony have done it again! I only wished that Amazon did one in black.

Well, what can i say, this is an awesome piece of kit, does everything i want it too, sound is fantastic, and set up is dead easy.
the fact that i can plug everything in, like dvd player, playstation,satalite, cd player etc and then only have the one lead going to the tv makes things so much neater.
an added bonus is being able to configure the remote to work existing dvd player etc, no matter waht make is a great feature also!

Ordered my a/v receiver on Friday evening delivered first thing Monday, less than one working day - beat that!
As far as the product is concerned althouth I haven't used it yet (waiting for HDMI lead to come, not Amazon) it looks good and I expect years of service out of it like other Sony products I have purchased.
Carry on the good work Amazon, although I don't think you'll beat this
