Excellent Item

(5 out of 5) by Mr. J. Royston-ford on Apr 9, 2009 (UK)
This voice recorder is excellent quality and excellent value for money.
The previous reviewer who had rated it badly because it didn't record his lectures in sufficient quality probably didn't alter the settings properly because if he/she had then the comment would not have been made. I suppose that is one of the drawbacks of this kind of "review" system.

I bought one of these for each of my members of staff and am very pleased with them. The software that comes with them is very good for transcription purposes.

No complaints, and for the money, you can't go wrong

Very poor

(1 out of 5) by Jack Napier on Oct 15, 2008 (London)
I impulsively bought a dictaphone in order to record my university lectures. Seeing as it cost around £50 (not on Amazon, in a high street shop) and was by a "reputable" make, I thought it would be fine for my purposes. I was wrong - the sound quality is absolutely abysmal. Listening back to the lectures I had recorded on the first day was barely tolerable. Admittedly, I was recording in an auditorium, but I directly compared the quality to my friends built in mic on his Creative MP4 player, and it was way, way superior. The actualy layout of the buttons/menus on the player is also incredibly counter-intuitive and inaccessible, making it a headache to actually record anything. I have subsequently bought a Logic 3 Microphone for my Ipod, which is infinitely better quality and easier to use, and I would recommend over the Sony by FAR - its much cheaper too!

Don't listen to other reviews!!

(5 out of 5) by Mr. S. V. Ovell on Jan 19, 2009
Hi, other reviewers gave this one a poor review, we'll all i can say is i think they are wrong!.
I use this for paranormal work for EVP sessions and i must say if you want a quality piece of kit then this is it. The software that comes with it is great, and lets you auto download files and listen to them in crystal clear quality in seconds, and is so simple to use.
Recording time is 130hrs on LP, 79hrs on SP and over 29hrs and HQ, so its great to leave in a room for long periods on fresh batteries.
All i can say is that if you want one to use for paranormal work then i'd go for this one. Enough said...just buy it now!!

I love my Sony Digital Dication Recorder

(4 out of 5) by Mr. J. L. O'CONNOR on Nov 6, 2009 (Liverpool, UK)
I love my Sony Digital Dictation Recorder; it's been a really good. Its records quality recordings, which are easily transfered to pc, into mp3 format, to put onto my ipod. I would highly recommend this product.
