Sony ICD B500 Digital Voice recorder

Bought this for my son as he had to do some interviews as part of his university course. Fast delivery and reasonable pricing. He just left recorder on table and questioned away no problem for all his interviews easy to set up and use. The only slight grumble was there did not seem (although we may not have worked it out properly) to be anyway to increase the sensitivity of the microphone when some people came into the room we were using and the background noise went up. But overall really pleased
Sony Digital voice recorder

I was really excited about getting this equipment as I use it for my uni course and recoding vocal rehearsals/training. However, the down side to this product is that you can't rewind to a particular sentence, verse or particular part in a song etc. It will only allow you to rewind to the begining of the recording and if you have been recording for more than 20 minutes it can be quite frustrating to have to listen to the whole recording again. Other than that for the price this voice recorder is ok

A very handy small digital recorder which works well with both the built in microphone or a suitable external one. With a telephone pick up coil it records telephone calls and the "loop" system in my church.

I found the interface non-intuitive and regret was in too much of a hurry to learn it. It was able to repeat my unrepeatables once or twice but I got utterly lost trying to get to grips with the designer's mindset. Nice build quality and good spec so it might suit others - hence a lenient 3 stars.

I bought this because I thought SONY was a reputable name - I used it for 4 hours & it needed new batteries.....
