A very disapointing experience
(1 out of 5) by Kirton on Feb 15, 2008 (UK)I picked out the Groove Snooze as the must have accessory for my iPod before Xmas and it was prooving very difficult to get hold of, which sort of confirmed to me that it could only be so popular if it was a worthy piece of kit. Amazon were advertising it for £43. Bargin Price. So i ordered one. However.....
1. On recieving the product, I found that there was no dock for the classic as advertised, but not a problem the 30Gb dock fits.
2. The iPod adapter would not fit in the docking bay, as the catch seemed to be fitted upside down!!!
3. The alarm is very quiet and it seems that the volume level will always reset to very quiet no-matter what you try. It's so quiet that it would never wake me up. The same applies to the radio, beeper and iPod alarms settings. however, you can adjust the volume of the alarm after it has gone off useing the remote control! ODD!
4. The clock faces in an upwards direction so is difficult if not imposible to see if it is positioned above the bed. Even if you can see, the back-light is not turned on whilst the unit is in standby, again making it impossible to see in the dark.
5. I found the overall build quality to be very disapointing. It has a cheap plasticy feel to it and the buttons lack a solid click when being pressed.
6. It is claimed that the unit is compatible with all dockable iPods, however as i said before it does not come with a dock adapter for the classic iPods. It also says on the box that the video out facility is not compatible with the classic iPods, but all other functions are fully compatible. A little fact that was not mentioned on the Amazon website.
7. I have a black ipod, which does not look good on the white unit, however it does com in black. I maybe stating the obvious here, but the white unit was £10 cheaper!
8. On the plus side, the speakers deliver crisp, clear sound which far belies the small size of the unit.
I was extremely disapointed with this purchase. If your after an alarm clock giving the function of waking up to your favorite iPod tunes, then this is not a good option.

Cygnett Groove Snooze - Don't Buy One !!!!

Firstly, when lying in bed you cannot see the time as the clock face is turned upwards and it is impossible to see. If I want to know the time I have to sit up in bed and look down on it.
Secondly, it's made very cheaply. It feels cheap, in fact everything about it is cheap. Seriously not worth the money. I wouldn't give a fiver for this crap product.
The sound is just alright.

Groove Snooze

Although the unit is a little plasticy - the quality of the sound is really good.
I see that other people cannot see the display but I have a bed higher than by bedside table and the display pointing upwards is perfect. I couldnt see the display of my last one.
