A year on and working well
I have had this set for about eighteen months now and have had no reliability issues whatsoever. I use my pc quite heavily, hence the mouse and keyboard have been exposed to plenty of action and no problems have ever arisen. The battery life is also fantastic-I have only had to change the batteries about four times!
The quality of these items is second to none. The mouse fits nicely into your hand and has just the right amount of buttons. The two back/forward buttons are extremely useful, making web browsing much more intuitive. The keyboard has a plethora of function keys for music and video playback and a button to check the batteries (not really needed). The keys aren't soft touch like the newer varieties, so it can be a little noisy when you are typing.
It is worth noting the usable range these have. I can get up to 4 meters away from the detector (which is hidden away under the desk) and it still picks up the signal perfectly. This is extremely useful if you have it hooked up to an XBOX or PS3 when you can be quite distant from the console. Additionaly I have never had any issues with signal pickup and I have wireless networks and consoles etc.
Overall a top quality product that looks great, performs excellently and stands the test of time.

Solid performance
I have had no issues with this at all. Looks good in black with silver edging. Wireless set up was very straightforward and does exactly what it says on the tin. Excellent value.

Logitech LX710 wireless mouse & keyboard
Logitech Wireless Desktop LX 710 Laser Keyboard and Mouse
an excellent product with a button under the mouse to switch it off when not in use. the symbols on the letter keys would be better if they were a little bigger for people who don't touch type. other than that a good buy

Ok, but far from great
So after much looking around and reading of reviews, I plumped for this keyboard, even though I was actually looking for a bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
I terms of connectivity, it seems fine (I've used a Lenovo Edge in the past that dropped its connection every 5 minutes). However, you do have to suffer the big wireless USB dongle sticking out of your machine - which is the exact reason I wanted to get a Bluetooth set and a nano dongle. If you're using a laptop and have stacked USB ports, this baby will eat two because you can't get anything else in there with this huge dongle plugged in. It might even be a push to get something in next to it if your USB ports are side by side. That's a gripe that could be leveled at most wireless RF keyboard/mouse sets though I suppose.
The mouse is actually very good. My only gripe is that the "click" of the mouse wheel isn't clicky enough - it's often very difficult to tell if you've actually clicked it at all. The forward and back buttons are very handy.
As for the keyboard, the key action is pretty good, no real complaints there. However, there are a fair few other problems. First the function keys. These are much smaller than all the other keys and split in the middle by a bunch of pretty useless keys that I haven't even taken the plastic off. Each function key also has an associated app or tool. I've never used a single one, but the pictures for the tools are much bolder than the function key numbers so you have to scan for the numbers every time. If you use the function keys a lot in your apps, you'll find this keyboard very irritating. Then there's the layout of the arrow keys. It's different from every other full size keyboard I've ever used, so when I get home from work my fingers are forever hitting the wrong keys because Home, End, Delete, Page Up and Page Down are in a completely non-standard configuration. My penultimate moan, is that this is a wireless keyboard, I move it around, and when I do, I pick it up by the ends, which is exactly where they've put another bunch of application keys. So every time I pick it up to move it, it fires off either iTunes (right end) or MS Photo Editor (left end). Last but not least, there is no caps lock, num lock, scroll lock, or in fact any other indicator lights on the keyboard (apart from battery life), which to my mind is a major and glaring omission.
So, overall, a reasonable keyboard with a nice key action, but very poorly thought out, with a bunch of application keys that you'll probably never use, in the most inconvenient places possible.

Looks good but no staying power
I've been using this keyboard for nearly two years as a replacement for a wired version. It has a good weight, low profile, and the black area in front of the keys is slightly rubberized which makes it quite comfortable. Initially my only disappointment was that the function key to launch Windows applications are shifted, so that you need both hands or a bit of dexterity to access them. Other than that, I was very pleased with my purchase.
Two years on, however, the rubberized area has picked up a lot of dirt and is very difficult to clean and some of the painted legends have worn off the key caps which evidently aren't two-shot mouldings as found on some keyboards. Worst of all, some of the keys have stopped working. So far only one of the delete keys has failed completely (perhaps I make a lot of mistakes), so I have a work-around but I don't know how long that will last.
Now, my particular keyboard is certainly no longer new, but I would have expected it to last more than two years. Those who favour function over form should beware.
