(5 out of 5) by Jason Murphy on Jul 9, 2007 (London)most people concentrate on the specs of a camera when they write a review mainly cos they take more care than i did on my first use but basically i dropped it from a little over a metre it landed on the edge of a solid metal air vent, whats worse it landed on the lense when it was out...what happened? nothing! a little scratch and everything is working perfectly!
i am really happy with that because i needed something robust. other things battery charges quickly but always handy to have a second to use while it is charging especially as they are not expensive on amazon.
a lovely, tough little camera which takes photos exactly as you would like! :)

Just buy it now...

It is, so far, brilliant. Ive yet to use it extensivly, but by just shooting random objects it has proved itself greatly. The build quality and size strike you first as it seems very rugged but also in the same sense, stylish. It has many clever modes, and one thing that pleasnetly suprised me is hat when you put it up onto full zoom, not just 3x zoom, but passed that, the picure goes all hazy, but once you've taken the shot it is crystal clear, like you are standing right next to it...I'll have to upload some shots to prove my point...
I could go on and on for ages about this camera, but I'll stop here (as I have revison to do...) and just end with...just buy it now...:)

The IXUS 70 is the way to go!
(4 out of 5) by Jose Garcia on Apr 13, 2007 (UK)I've used both Canon & Sony cameras/camcorders, & feel Canon has a higher quality product. The pictures I've taken are very sharp. The camera, although boxy, is well-designed, so it could be easily held with one hand to take pictures.

Nice one

I definetly see that I have given right desicion to buy this camera. Economic and it does everything what you expect from a compact machine. Nice one... Strongly recommended.

lens error
(1 out of 5) by N. Tanner on Jul 16, 2009 (uk)Had this camera for 1 year and 3 months when I got the dreaded "Lens error" message. As it is outside warranty, Canon don't want to know- they don't recognise this as a fault, even though there are websites devoted to it. Seems to be an ongoing problem. It's really annoyed me, because clearly Canon make the best cameras and I miss the camera from when it actually worked because it was fantastic, but I don't trust them now. I'm not using Canon again.
