good range for distant control

I wanted a wireless keyboard and mouse to use with the lap-top linked to the tv screen This equipment will work at 8-9 feet in my set-up. It looks very smart with an HP Pavilion laptop. It is plug and play but an applet can be downloaded for displaying battery charge and caps lock. There are 8 configurable quick launch buttons. The mouse is very comfortable, ergonomically shaped for right-handers. The keyboard has rear feet for making a slope and can be stored on end. An initial set-up broblem was solved by using a different usb port. My HP products have been well made and reliable and this seems to be the same.
