Best phones I've used in this price range

I was mildly surprised when i heard these phones, stylish and good quality? That's not something you expect from the budget price range of just about any product!

First, the sound quality is excellent. The highs are crisp and clear, the mid range is stronger than most budget phones who usually tend to overlook it completely, but these Sonics produced a very good clean and pronounced middle. The only downside is the bass for me, which isn't an issue because my MP3 player/Hifi both have very good Custom EQ settings, the bass can use a little holding back, but once you've got that down these produce a fantastic all round sound quality.

And yes that's right, they don't take too much powering. I use them every day on my commute with a Creative Zen Vision:M MP3 player, and they sound great. They don't block out all the sound, you can still hear noise during quiet breaks in your music, but they do dampen the music enough that you forget how loud the trains are normally!

I don't think they'd be ideal DJ phones, but if you're looking for a pair that'll double for DJing and general use you couldn't go too far wrong (as I have done in the past..)

They are also remarkably comfortable. Many "can" headphones can be pretty tight, but these seem to be a perfect mix of firmly attached but you can easilly forget you're wearing them.

Add all that to a great look and better price and these are a winning pair of headphones. When mine eventually die, I'm buying another pair if I still can.

superb headphones

this are such a stylish and comfortable set of headphones. They cover your ears perfectly and do keep just about any ambient noise out.The only thing I would say in the negative column is that they're so good you do hear the hiss when playing poor mp3s through you player, but can you really point fingers at something for being too good? I don't think so. The best headphones I've ever had!

Hi-Def Headphones!

Pleasantly suprised when i unboxed them, very stylish, sleek and retro.
I was incredibly suprised when i plugged these into my computer, ive only got a bog standard soundcard that comes with my dell 4700, however, amazing bass, not too head-banger but seriously good bass response, very very decent mid range and also the highs in them are pretty decent aswell, im not used to this kind of quality, i cant here the patter of my keyboard, or the shouts for dinner.through these, i can hardly hear myself speak with them on, very very comfortable, i have a reasonably large head (not afraid to admit it) and these do not 'clamp' my skull, i have used them continuosly for 4 or 5 hours now and still as comfortable as when i put them on.

I listen to all genres of music, mainly RnB and Acoustic and some Soul, so quite a range, the high pitched range is quite important to me in my listening and these defenitly deliver those with outstanding quality.

gets a recommendation from me.

Good but proceed with Caution

The cans are good, sound great for the price and have good isolation. My only criticism is the cable is somewhat on the short side. Billed as "monitor headphones" I expected to be able to plug them into a headphone amp mounted on a percussion stand but they need an additional extension cable even for that.

The only thing to watch out for is that there is also a "white" model and I was sent this by mistake by one amazon seller. They invited me to return the goods for exchange THEN announced that there were no cream pairs in stock. I write this while awaiting a refund. I'll probably go for blue next.

Update. I got the phones from another seller. They come with a good quality extension cord and adaptor. A really great item, especially at that price!

The first trader I dealt with is now hassling me to remove their two star rating! If only I could knock them down to 1 star for that I would!
