The camera arrived in good packaging. I was surprised how cute it was, the colour is a divine hot pink! There were no faults, so the delivery proved to be a success. In the box i found many things, including a usb plug and a plug that can connect to the television- so you can view your pictures on bigscreen!
I found that the camera takes better pictures when on flash and under a good light.
Great for taking pictures when going out, or on holiday.
I'm really pleased as it was a good product for a good price!

I was prepared to be disappointed with this camera having used film SLRs for most of my life, but I was pleasantly surprised.

This neat little camera is perfect for taking everywhere, so I've taken more photos since March 2008 than I have done in the last 10 years. OK, it doesn't have the same range of aperture and manual modes I'm used to with an SLR, but I've rediscovered the joys of photography because it's light and so easy to carry around. And what it lacks for me as an ex-SLR user won't matter to most people anyway.

Close up and landscape shots both come out well, though care needs to be taken in macro mode to ensure close up shots are in focus rather than fuzzy. Don't bother with the viewfinder (as what you see through here is not what you get), use the LCD screen to line up shots instead.

It does have a zoom, but most shots will come out fuzzy unless you have a very steady hand and good lighting, particularly if using x2 to x4 zooming. Better results are usually obtained by enlarging and cropping photos once pictures have been downloaded to your computer.

2 hints - use the best rechargeable batteries you can buy and at least a 1GB memory card and you'll be able to take pictures all day to your hearts content.

I've had this camera for three years and it's brilliant, you can take it anywhere and still get amazing photos - its shock proof, I've dropped it quite a few times and have spilt orange juice on it and it still works. There are only one real problem with it - it doesn't like doing flash photography, it takes a while for it to load it up and it really drains the battery. The best batteries for it are duracel without using flash it's lasted at least two hundred photos - and don't be fooled when it flashes the battery is running out it will still last another 50 photos. I've taken alot of amazing photos using the mirco option. enjoy!

Bought this camera for my wife about 18 months ago from Amazon. The results have been very good indeed - excellent lens. As expected the results are not as good as a far more expensive/larger Bridge or SLR camera, but it is more convenient to carry around. For this reason I sometimes use the A460 and like it so much that I decided to buy its successor the A470 (but in a more manly colour silver - grrr). Although the A470 has more features I would not dismiss the A460.

Like most small cameras flash on the A460 is not very flattering to the subject but when required it does the job fine.

The optical viewfinder is very useful on a bright day when it is difficult to see the LCD screen (this can be readily switched off to conserve batteries).

The battery compartment lid is a bit delicate so take care. The optional DCC 400 case from Canon is a nicely tailored fit and a good buy, but there is no space for spare batteries. If you prefer to pack spare batteries (lets face it you will need to if you use rechargeables) consider a slighlty larger case from GEM or Samsonite/Hama.

Although not the most compact camera the A460 it is a very good buy.

The camera itself is very good, but at the time of writing this review there are far better alternatives which are cheaper AND of better quality.

I would suggest you check out canon's IXUS range, unless this camera were to drop way below £70
