Great price, great sound

(5 out of 5) by Westy2007 on Aug 6, 2007 (London)
Given the size (small) and price (low) these speakers sound great. A huge improvement over an old pair of powered travel speakers that I've used until now (which weren't actually that much cheaper). It's a very flexible unit which can run off the mains using the supplied adapter or off 4 x AA batteries. Note: it also charges your iPod when running from the mains. It is flexible in terms of audio inputs, with an auxilliary input socket on the back, meaning you can plug in anything which accepts a standard 3.5mm headphone e.g. CD player, portable radio or even a laptop. It looks good and feels pretty well made. The supplied bag will no doubt help protect it if used on your travels. One thing to point out - whilst this doesn't let you control your ipod using a remote control, if you happen to have an iPod dock with remote sensor, you can dock your iPod on that and connect this to the speaker using the Auxilliary input on the back. This enables you to use the remote.

Overall I'd definitely recommend these speakers on both cost but importantly also on sound quality - the sound is pretty well resolved and not at all tinny (which you often get with small speakers). At reasonable volumes they are plenty punchy enough to provide more than just background music.

Good value&good sound - shame about the annoying plug.

(3 out of 5) by Katty91 on Nov 30, 2007
I have just recently bought these speakers for myself and i am pleased with the sound, price and quality of them. There is only one thing that bothers me about them, the plug makes a buzzing sound when you switch it on. It doesn't effect the sound when the speakers are playing music, but when they are just on to charge the ipod, the sound is really irritating. I'm not sure if it is a fault with my speakers or if it happens with every single set. It would be interesting to hear if other sets have the same problem.

Excellent value

(5 out of 5) by Ian Kelly on Aug 10, 2007 (North West England)
Had these for about a year now. For the money I really don't think you can do much better. I have taken this all over the world and is smal enough to not be a problem and conveniently charges at same time so no need for a charger aswell. Sound quality is more than adequate and although could live with a bit more bass and volume, that'll cost another £40 or so. An excellent deal all round, and many of my travelling and party friends have agreed with me.

These arrived today, i orderd black and i got white, but not that fussed. the sound quality is prity good considering their price + size, comes with a bag and can run either off mains or batery so is very flexible. could be more bass but for taking on holiday they're a bargain

Great Speakers

(5 out of 5) by BallBoy on Nov 14, 2008 (London, UK)
I bought these speakers recently so I could use my iPod Touch in the kitchen. Absolutely fantastic speaker for the price. Great rich sound for a unit so small. They're a basic speaker in that there's no remote or added functionality but they're perfect for what I need. They come with a dust bag and are certainly small enough to travel with. Can be used with batteries or the supplied power adaptor. The buzzing sound people have reported worried me a little, but thus far I have not witnessed this. Highly recommended.
