HP photosmart printer D6160

Feb 11, 2007 - By J. Parkinson (england)

I bought this printer from pcworld on offer for £0.00. It's fab. Quality of photographs is excellent. Had a little trouble loading the software but that might have been me. Once all sorted the photosmart premier programe is really easy to use. Cost of the individual ink cartridges is quite reasonable. Good offer on the premium plus photo paper at the moment too.

Best thing yet

We needed a versatile printer for photo printing especially 6"x4" and this one fits the bill admirably. We have printed some stunning quality photo's already after a few hours from setting up. We paid for express delivery and unit arrived with 48 hours - connecting to computer and set up was a doddle - just follow the quick guide. You will need a USB cable to connect to computer (not supplied). Footprint is quite large so make sure you have room on your desktop! Paper magazine can hold two sizes of paper which is good for storage and ease of use. I have found genuine pack of ink cartridges with 150 sheets of 4x6 photo paper for about £25 so with average useage running cost should not be too great. Am I happy I bought this machine - YES!

The worst purchase ever made!!!!!!

Nov 15, 2008 - By A. U. Splitt (UK)

Nothing but trouble from the word go. I had this printer for about 8 moths. The software is rubbish. It has space for internal conflict in settings, whatever you select, you need to do it in several separate places to make it do anything else than printing simple A4. It is in constant conflict with all my programmes, the only way I can make it work is through explorer, and that is when it chooses to do so. Nothing is straight forward with it, having massive trouble with simple operation like checking ink levels, because the described HP solution centre is nowhere to be found.
Stay away, unless you have nothing better to do than sorting your printer.
