Half decent good-looking protection

(2 out of 5) by A. Bedewi on Jun 15, 2007 (London, UK)
I recently purchased a snazzy little ipod nano and wanted a slimline soft-feel case for it that looked good and didn't interfere with me using it. The 'exspect protective skin' does about that in that it looks good, it's slim and soft to the touch, it provides decent protection if (for example) you dropped it running for your bus, but there the good points stop.

For a start it didn't arrive with the 'lanyard' for looping it over your neck and through the 'D' ring (making it a useless protusion. In fact id rather it wasn't there in the first place as it gets in the way). Secondly it's almost impossible to reach the 'hold' switch on the top of the ipod, which is really annoying! The additional mm or two in the protective skin effectively shields the button and prevents what is a very important function.

The screen protection (included) was a little tricky to apply, as i had to remove it and try again several times before eliminating any air pockets.

Now for the cop-out. The 'belt loop' (effectively two slits in the back of the skin) is stupid as you would effectively have to loop your belt under and through the base of the skin, in itself a rather tricky procedure! Seeing as the protective skin literally hugs your ipod you would risk scratching your new machine before you've even had a chance to turn it on.

I think you'll find there are better and equally cheap (£9.99 incl postage) nano skins out there, made with a little more thought as to how exactly you might want to use your ipod.
