Works for NWZ series too - and works well!

Because the NWZ-A8xx series had bluetooth, I bought one of those, too, but was always annoyed that I could use one with the cordless headphones but the other I was less inclined to use. So this was a perfect way to make the NWZ-A7xx series even better - and at a very reasonable cost.
Despite all the checking on the Sony site and here, I couldn't immediately see if the WLANWB1 would work for me so bought it on the offchance. The good news is, it works. The better news is it works with my existing headset and works just as well as it does using my NWZ-A8xx. Range is the same. Battery life I've yet to confirm but will assume around the same. Sound quality is the same... and all the same excellence.
As the instructions say, this will work with any of the devices that support the 22-pin connector.

Awesome

Works with X series Walkman
(5 out of 5) by M. greenbank on Sep 6, 2009 (UK)I took a chance that this will work with my X Series walkman and it does. I use it in my car with a bluetooth stereo and I am able to pause and skip tracks using the stereo controls. Its easy to set up and the quality is excellent.

Works for NWZ-S639 too
(5 out of 5) by Jp Harkin on Sep 5, 2009 (N. Ireland)I use this for the Sony Walkman NWZ-S639FS (Sony Walkman NWZ-S639FS 16GB Drag & Drop MP4 Video Player with FM Tuner - Silver) and combined with the Sony SRS-BT100 Bluetooth Speaker this completes the setup for a decent entertainment centre.
One draw back though is that when the dongle is plugged into the Sony Walkman NWZ-S639FS 16GB Drag & Drop MP4 Video Player with FM Tuner - Silver you are not able to stream FM Radio to the speaker as the walkman requires the head phones to be plugged in (to act as an antenna), however these cannot be plugged into the walkman at the same time as the dongle - the dongle protrudes (very slightly) over the socket for the head phones.
I can't fault the dongle for this though hence the 5 stars.
