The definition of plug'n'play

(5 out of 5) by Mr. B. L. Richardson on Jul 2, 2007 (Oxford, UK)
I plugged it into my 3 year old XP machine, and it worked perfectly within five minutes.
The speed fluctuates some, from 15 or 18 all the way up to 50, but that's more likely to be influenced by your position/router than the USB dongle.
I was worried about buying one of these, but I'd recommend this as a brilliant and cheap way to bring wireless to your desktop.

Excellent value

(5 out of 5) by Thomas Mante on Jan 7, 2008 (UK)
The reviews of this product suggested it would be problem-free, easy to use and install. They were right!!!!!

I am by no means a computer wizard nor am I a luddite but I generally find the level of service/product in the computer industry tends to be, at best, very variable. Although the reviews were very favourable for this product and were the main reason that I selected it, I was still more than a little nervous about installation etc. My fears were unjustified, as one reviewer said the 'definition of 'plug 'n play'. Simplicity itself. If you need one of these gizmos then you colud do a lot worse than this little chap.

So easy and works perfectly

(5 out of 5) by Mr. Dean Fraiquin on Nov 1, 2007
Bought the Belkin USB adapter for £20.00 - had to phone up customer services in US to get that working. Would not maintain a connection. Saw the Sweex on Amazon - bought it and set it up in seconds. Works perfectly, no drop out, uses Windows to make the connection, not like Belkin. Buy this not the belkin.

Sweex Wireless Adapter

(5 out of 5) by C. Stamford on Dec 28, 2007
This is, undoubtedly, the best wireless USB adapter I've had the honour of using.

You simply plug it in; plop in the CD; and XP picks it up automatically and installs it. Done and dusted in under 2 minutes. All that's left after that is for it to pick up the network - which is instant - and connect to it. I was pleasantly surprised when I was presented with a 5-bar signal; full connectivity; considering a) there are three walls and various other wireless products seperating my computer from my router, and b) my previous PCI adapter (the Netgear WG311) could only fish up two bars and kept producing fluctuating speeds.

I've had nothing but good from this adapter, running on XP Pro SP2. Best signal I've ever had; no connection drops; handles multiple downloads well; visually attractive; truly plug'n'play; and last but certainly not least... it works!

Works perfectly with a Virgin media supplied router.

(5 out of 5) by Mr. D. Bell on Jun 30, 2008 (Northampton, England)
There are already numerous reviews on this product saying how good it is. I will add to this but mention something more specific about its use.

I am with Virgin media, and the kind people there sent me a free router (but only after I told them I was cancelling my subscription as they wanted 40 quid for it!) so I could use my PS3 on-line. It arrived but I wasn't told I needed a dongle to attach to my main computer in order to use the router. Not knowing where to start, I looked at the cheapest dongle, read the reviews, and thought it sounded spot on. It arrived two days after ordering and within 20 minutes my router was installed, the dongle installed and I was joining geek heaven and playing games on line! This product is so easy to use and provided you actually follow the instructions it's a breeze to set up. True value for money.
