The noise cancelling is amazing but only works with the supplied headphones- when these break (as headphones tend to do after a certain period of daily use) then you will NEVER be able to use the function again (as the only place selling replacements (on sony's behalf) seems to no longer stock them and when they were, they cost £45). My headphones lasted 3-4 months before they stopped working, if you take extreme care and don't use them often you may be lucky enough to get a few more months out of them. Also, to accomodate the unusual shaped plug at the end of the supplied phones, the socket in the player is specially shaped and in my experience, less secure; now, after 5 months of use it is slightly loose meaning the audio is impaired for any headphones I use, rendering the player useless unless im sitting/standing still.

I love this player but i didn't buy it on Amazon I bought it at Argos for £49.99 for the 2GB version, it so lightweight charges easily holds my songs and i still actually have a lot of space left to add more love the noise cancelling function helps to ignore people and lets me get on with what i'm doing (i.e. essay writing, reading) Brilliant best buy in a long while!
