As a DVD player this is an excellent bit of kit. The subwoofer is one of the best I've ever heard and it will shake your windows! The menu screen is very dated and there isn't much scope for fine tuning the speakers. The sound when watching a dvd is awesome for a 2.1. Unfortunately the same can't be said when listening to the tv or a games console. The speakers cackle at low volume and the subwoofer goes to sleep. As I said, if all your going to do is watch dvds on this than I'd recommend it. But if you want to listen to other appliances, stay well away.

I have this item and I cannot believe how good it is. The main amp/dvd unit is unbelievably well made, it is really heavy with a proper aluminuim top and bottom. The front speakers are very loud despite being small, and the sub woofer will shake plaster off walls its so good. The unit comes with very easy "plug and play" speaker leads and extension pieces can be bought seperately. The DVD player is the usual Sony quality and will play dvd copies and even DIVx's off the internet. The back of the unit has a huge range of connectors with scarts, phono, and digital inputs. Really for the price you cannot go wrong. Sony do a Dav-x1v which has a dvd multichanger but was priced at £699 in the Sony centre, This is £400 cheaper and sounds every bit as good!

Great system. Good for listening to music and watching movies if you are a music lover like me that likes deep and good bass this is a system you should consider. Great sound quality from the two front speakers.
Lots of connection options available at the back.
This is propably the most beautifull sound system have seen in a while.
