Great sound for the size
I have a 30GB iPod video and it compliments it well. It is a small unit however, it feels well made with a good weight making sure it will not topple over. The sound quality is very good, even the bass comes through which is suprising for such a small unit. It can take high volumes without distortion.
There are three inputs in the back of the unit, iPod USB connector, mini stero jack and power. It comes supplied with a mini jack connector (white) but no iPod lead or iPod blank.
The remote control is basic but because it uses RF rather than infra red it opperates from over 30ft away. The limitations in the remote control are due to the iPod rather than the JBL design. I have an apple dock as well and the apple remote will do the same.
One small issue, the power brick and lead are black, which is not a major problem but everything else is white so it seems like the finance department made that decision... My poer brick also has an an anoying hum after it has been plugged in for more than 10 minutes. This can be 'fixed' by whacking it but I may send it back to JBL under warranty if it becomes too intrusive.
Overall a great unit, well built, complementary design and well worth the price.

Great value for money
This is the perfect sound dock for your iPod if you want something compact, sub £100, and yet able to fill a room with good quality sound.
I have my iPod docked to my Hi-Fi in the living room, and use the JBL for the kitchen. Inevitably when I first move through from the Hi-Fi to the JBL I am aware of the step down in quality - but that is inevitable. It is nonetheless remarkable how the JBL fills the kitchen - which is a good sized room - without straining. It has a full rich sound considering its small scale, and loads of power. It copes well with all kinds of music - even with the dynamic range of classical. It struggles a little with very heavy base on contemporary music - there can be moments of distortion at higher volumes (but in an acceptable range in my opinion).
I would recommend it.
One footnote: do take care to buy the right one for the UK - with UK plug fitted. I initially bought one in New York, where I had bought previous portable iPod speakers. Those had come with an adapter for the UK. The JBL didnt - so it was useless.
But my present one came from Amazon.co.uk and duly arrived with its UK plug.

Fantastic Device
Fantastic Device
I must say I bought two of these now, and they are absolutely worth every penny. Is amazing how much sound this little device can produce.
Definitely recommend it as IPod docking station or as speakers for laptop or PC. Or both pc and IPod ;-)

Classy
This classy speaker system delivers a really smooth but weighty sound, surprising for its small size.
It does everything you would expect from JBL. It was bought for my daughter's iPod Nano and she is delighted with it, she loves dinky little remote too.
